El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Our candles (the one's that were actual candles - we had both real and battery operated) stayed lit fine. If you are worried about it, bring the battery one's and ask the wedding coordinator to add them in if the real one's are blowing out. I'm sure they'd be happy to do that.

Here's the pics I have of the beach bar. I love the outside swings. The whole area is good for pics :) The pic of the tables shows you where your guests can sit. There's also beanie bags which you saw in the other pics...

Is your table set up the "standard" one? I noticed the gold chargers, and was curious. Did you bring the centerpieces with you, or did EDR supply them? How did the votive candles hold up in Tucanes?

do you have any pics of the beach bar? either Guacamayas or the Martini bar were recommended for us for the cocktail hour, and I wasn't sure what to recommend.

Sorry for the questions!!!!!

Your guys, are they just wear regular dress shirts and pants?... this is something my fiance and I have been discussing a lot lately, since all the summer wear suits have been going on sale.  We've looked at linen, but Todd doesn't like how it wrinkles as you wear it.  And he's afraid of sweat marks and being uncomfortable in sweaty clothes.  We've seen Jos A Bank sells wicking dress shirts and Stay Cool Suits, which are kind of like wicking.  But the shirts only come in white, not so big a deal, and the suits only come in khaki and olive- He really wants to do grey.  Plus we were thinking of doing a vest to make it a little more formal, without the added heat of a jacket.  Does anyone have any input or suggestions on any of this?

Do the bars, like Guacamayas, Jo Jos, and the Beach Bar have food?  That's my only concern, that people will be hungry and not want to wait for food.  Every wedding I've ever been to, I was always hungry come cocktail hour- and sometimes disappointed by the selection and amount of food even.   Also, were you able to ask them to do a "signature drink"?  I really like this idea... or to ask them to have more of a certain amount of liquor to make one of their own drinks on hand?  I've seen tons of really great cocktail hour ideas.  Things like two color napkins, each with fun facts about the bride and groom on them... or coasters with the drink recipe on them... even seating done by putting the name and table number on a tag attached to a straw.  But... in an all inclusive resort, I'm not sure it's worth it... especially.. and this will sound horrible and selfish.. but it's not like we'll be able to enjoy it-we'll be off shooting pictures somewhere.   I saw the picture of you on the swing- adorable by the way- did you join your group for a bit before dinner?

Here you go!

SPA SERVICES 2.gif     Also, beach bar & guacamayas do not serve any sort of food- jojo's is a sit-down restaurant so I don't think that really helps. I think the only way that you can actually get food served is if you pay for a private cocktail reception or if your guests sit down at one of the restaurants and order food.

I did the striped straws and some personalized beverage napkins, thinking they would be cute on the bar during the reception, only to find out that the Tucanes bar is more sunken. I think I'm just going to have them put the straws in the drinks as people order them at the reception, and pass out the napkins with them. and not do anything special for the "cocktail hour".

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
