Here's a link to the map on their website. If you double click it, it'll get (a little) bigger.

http://www.eldoradosparesorts.com/hotels/el_dorado_royale/location.php

Gazebo 55 is the double rings at the far left on the beach.

Guacamayas is in the middle of the resort - next to the "Club House" - it's spot B2, just to the right & behind the chapel.

Cocotal is in the same builidng as the main lobby, it's just downstairs. The easiest landmark on the map is the Grand Ballroom, it's just "below" that. The Martini bar is also next to the main lobby.

We sent our guests from Gazebo 55 to the Martini bar for (informal) cocktails, and then to Tucanes for the reception. Some of them stopped at Jojos for drinks and snacks instead of going to the Martini bar.

We honestly didn't care for Guacamayas. We went there one night, and the music (live cover band) was just...bad...lol We couldn't drink fast enough to make it entertaining. Maybe it's just us though! Others seemed to enjoy it. We hung out at the Martini bar or the Beach bar most nights.

We didn't catch many of the shows - just the fire show. That one was worth watching.

Does that help?

that helps a ton!!! thanks!!!

I hate bands so I would likely feel the same about guacamayas, what was the beach bar like? Was it open late and was there a dj?

Do you know when the shows were or when the fire show was, was there a schedule?

The band was entertaining in a way.....not great music, but he was fun and funny and brought the crowd in.....so it was different certainly!!

The shows are the same time every night - I think 9:30 and every night is different. They do post on a big board what show they are doing each night. I think we too only saw 1 and I think it was the Mayan one.....not so good, but it didn't matter we were just hanging out enjoying doing nothing!!

I will let Allie comment on the beach bar - we were only there a few nights, but no DJ.

Hope that helps some!

Oh yeah - I couldn't believe I forgot to even take one picture, but I was preoccupied.....the seamstress said these 2 things to me that had me perplexed in a funny way

"We have to do something with the top of that dress, it looks like there's nothing there." neenerneener.gif I mean I know they aren't big, but OMG it was sooo funny!!

Then she asked if I planned to lose weight......Uh, no I think I'm gonna stay this way but thanks for asking. I asked my mom, do I look fat in this dress????

Such a funny little lady!!

Guacamayas has a show every night I believe at 9pm. They had a wonderful Cirque du Soleil-esque show, a karioke night which I found quite entertaining, and a few otehrs that we all enjoyed. After teh show is over, the bands or DJ tend to take over so dont count Guacamayas out for entertainment!

As the others said, they are typically around 9pm, and they are posted on the board across from Jojo's. I say definitely check out Guacamayas - it may work for you!

There's no music - band or DJ at the Beach Bar. It's a sit and chat sort of place. Nearly everyone we met was super friendly at the resort (guests), so we always had fun chatting with others.

Oh my, that would have thrown me off too.

For what it's worth... I'm a D cup, and I still had gel cups added to my dress to fill it out/hold the girls up a little more.

And I think every bride plans to lose weight before the wedding - so that's an important question to ask for alterations!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
