No they dont know i've got them. But i think they will ask about jewellery etc now its getting closer and we're having our hair done. I think i might do it sat and then yeh give my sisters to her when i see her next. I dont see her much she is a director of a catering firm (and actually my boss) so always at work or away with work or off on her holidays (she's in US at the mo) so dont get to see her as much as i'd like. Its her birthday in March though so sure we'll have a get together then x

My poor mum is back in hospital!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke to her yesterday morning and was surprized she didnt call me in the late afternoon to see how i was doing with my bathroom makeover.I called her at tea tme and there was no answer.I rang at about 7.30 and my brother answered and said oh didnt you know she was rushed to hospital with her gall bladder. At about 11.00 she started getting bad pains she wouldnt let dad ring the dr but by 1.00 she said call him.He arrived 20 mins later and hed called the ambulance she was n a cold sweat so was unsure if she was having a heart attack.

Anyway she was tansfered to Limerick over an hours drive from her home where she remains on a drip. The annoying thing is she was due to have the gall bladder removed at the end of this month after her last flair up when they gave her 6 weeks of antibiotics.Apparantly the gallbladder cant be removed if its inflammed.A letter arrived today with a date for surgery the 7th march.I ust hope she dosent have to wait long now cos our holiday back to Zante is th 22nd May.

Ive not spoken to her today as my dad packed the hospital bag and left her charger. He meant to take it today and had packed it but took it all out to check it was there and left it behind.I wouldnt of wanted to of been in his shoes when she realized !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shes very pissed at the moment wanting to come home cos she thinks theyve done nothing with her at all today except move her to a different ward.

My dad arrived at the ward hed left her in last night to be told shed gone to say c1 he arrived to be told no Patricia ohalloran here.He went to every ward and then went back to the first one again the nurse turned around and said loudly theres no Mrs Patricia Ohalloran here is there to which she got Patricia Ohalloran? umm no.My dad then heard yep here my mum was lying in the bed had been there for much of the morning WTF

They had her as Patricia OGorman!!!! her address is 1 OGorman st.

No wonder shes fed up bless her she will go mad if they send her home and cancel her op for the 7th likewise if my dad forgets the phone charger tomoz he will need a hospital bed

Girls how annoying is it when the WC's dont reply to your emails. I mean i'm quite laid back and i know they are super busy but we are just under 3mths now and really want some feedback... I emailed about 6wks ago and still haven't heard back. I know everyone says itll be ok and you can arrange it all when your out there etc etc but the one thing i want for our wedding day is to have our meal in our chosen choice of al a cartes... our hotel is a nightmare for getting booked in the al a cartes and really want the WC to confirm we can have it!! It is the only thing i am very concerned about. Everything else i think, what will be will be and 'it'll be alright on the night' but this ONE thing i would really like. I mean she hasn't been intouch for months and i've not been sent flower examples or anything. So think ok i can go through all that out there with her but surely they need to give you some kind of feedback!!! honestly... head, brick wall... bang bang....BangHead.gif

Kiwimel - My thoughts are with everyone is Christchurch hope all your friends and family are well and safe xxx I also have cousins and aunts over there xxx

Michelle - I think it is a lovely idea to give the earrings with the hair trials as Nicy says it will probably come up. And I am sure your sister won't mind and like you said you can always give them on her birthday xxx  Have you tried the Next catalogue for the brown shoes or their website??? I think I would be really frustrated if the WC wasn't getting back to me this close to the wedding.... I have had my a la carte choices.... Haven't made a decision yet... What timescale do these choices need to be made as I haven't chosen my bouquet, cake etc  I haven't even chosen a colour scheme yet..... I am thinking of either turquoise or coral... What are all your colour schemes?? I know Nicy is aqua and Michelle pink :-))))))

Nicy - I love your hair choice especially if you have natural curls I think it will look LUSH xx

Roo- Wishing you and your mum well xxxx

Can't see anything on Next that is suitable for Harrison to wear in next... maybe when there summer catalogue comes out they may have some. Not sure when it comes out though. Hopefully march time.... I haven't chosen a thing to do with our wedding. Flowers, cake, cocktail hour food etc etc. I'm not too worried about that i'm more concerned about the actual evening meal. I have emailed Caribbean Warehouse (Bluebay) to see if they can help and also wrote on the wall of the hotel FB page! I know they do hundreds of weddings but this is MY wedding and important to me!

Hope you are all well?  I have been off work/computer for the last 2 days as I havent been well.  I havent been sleeping - anxiety etc  Especially with everything that has been happening in Christchurch.

My invites are being printed as we speak!  Im very excited but they are super expensive!  Im not really sure how that happened!  Anyway, they're being printed now so hey ho.  Just cant wait to send them out.  We have included a question on the RSVP about a favourite song to get you on the dance floor so I cant wait to see the responses.

Sounds like everyones wedding dress fittings went really really well!  So happy for you girls.

Nicyx - it must be so exciting for you now!  It feels like yesterday not October last year when I first came on here and you were making barefoot sandals and there was that other lovely lady who got married in Cyprus with her kids and his kids???  I cant remember her name but she was a sweet little thing.  Anyway - you only have 9 weeks to go before you fly out.  So so so exciting!

Charmaine - great news on the church!  Sounds like everything is coming together nicely and so early too - you will be well prepared.  I feel so sorry for you having the MIL over for 2 whole weeks!

Samcalv1 - your dress is BEAUTIFUL!  I just love it.  I am sure you will look amazing in it!

I'm not much if a tiara/veil kind of girl so I have some beautiful art deco/1930's vintage drop earrings.   My hair is long, dark and pain-in-the-arse curly.  Do you think it would be too much to add a flower in there?  I have to wear my hair up because of the back on my dress so I thought I might try a flower.  Have you seen any nice ones around?

Thanks

Mel xxx

Kiwimel,

I thought of you when everything was going on in NZ.  We've been donating at the red cross for aid. One of my colleagues is also from NZ and that's where his family is from and although they have everyone accounted for they are without electricity and water.  Tough times :-(  Hope everyone on your end is ok!

All my best,

Natalie

Amurka - I love your invitiations they are gorgeous hun, be sure to post a picture when you add your colours on.

Nicy - Woo Hoo you've posted the invites, I can't believe your wedding is coming around so quickly...when I created this thread you were the first person to reply to me on the day that you booked your wedding and now you are weeks away from heading of to Mexico, time sure does fly.  And although I keep moaning about how long i've got until my wedding I had over 2 years to go when I started the thread and now i've got 16 months, still long I know but it feels as though it is going so fast xxx

Samclav1 - your dress is gorgeous, i'm sure you'll look stunning in it x

Roo - i'm so sorry to hear that your mum is unwell, the hospital should be ashamed of themselves that is disgusting, you should put in a formal complaint.

Mel - my thoughts are with you and your family, I hope that everybody is ok xx

Hi ladies

So remember I was telling you about the draping that i wanted on the golf club walls which is going to cost anywhere from £1500-£2000, well i'm still getting quotes so will hopefully get a cheaper price.  I thought i'd show you some before and after pictures so you can see how they transform a room. We did think about doing it DIY but to tell you the truth i don't think we will be able to recreate the look and also my bridesmaids would have to get into the room in the morning and start setting it all up, which is not feasible.  We both really like it so we're going to see if the budget can stretch but we're not going to kill ourselves for it.

    • My best friend is getting married with his long-term girlfriend next month. As a best friend, I want to give them the best present they would ever receive on their special day. I am planning to buy them plane tickets and book them for a one week trip abroad. However, I am torn between Ukraine ski trip and a tour to Lima, Peru. My best friend loves skiing and his future wife is a chef, so I presume she would want to experience a Peruvian taste. Now, I am confused. Which is which? I would appreciate it if you guys will leave a comment to help me out with this. Suggesting a way better idea which will accommodate the two activities for the soon-to-be wedded couple is a big help too. Thanks!
    • Hello all!! I'm getting married next week. Every arrangement has been done by my sister for my special day. When I joined in an MNC I was troubled with severe headaches and as per my colleague's instruction, I took an appointment in a nearby eye clinic. And after an eye examination in Toronto, the eye specialist diagnosed hypermetropia in me. And the doctor prescribed eyeglasses for me. The doctor suggested me to wear eyeglasses during the working time. But I used to wear it sometimes not every day. Then I was troubled with severe eye strain and headache and mom was scolding me to wear eyeglasses every day. I thought of saying goodbye to eyeglasses forever. I'm planning for a Lasik eye surgery soon before my marriage. I don't know whether I'm eligible for Lasik eye surgery. I'm tensed about its recovery time and its complications. Can someone help me by sharing your views?
    • In the 2017 bridal fashion week, many styles of wedding dresses were gradually popular. From serious bling to regal capes and fun and flirty short numbers, ByCouturier've got all the hottest wedding dress trends you need to know. Allover Sparkle
Over-the-top sequins, tonal beading and metallic embellishments turned the Bridal Fashion Week runways into a glittery affair. Perfect for evening nuptials under the stars, this trend is daring but sophisticated. Pro tip: If you're rocking a gown with lots of sparkle, keep your accessories minimal and let your glitzy frock do all the talking.  Bold Ball Gowns
If you're looking to make a dramatic entrance, a classic ball gown is for you—and we saw plenty of them. Take a cue from long, lace sleeves, or get glam with an embellished strapless bodice. No matter the details, this voluminous style is sure to turn heads.  Captivating Capes
Not into veils? A full-length bridal cape or shorter capelet is the perfect alternative: It still adds movement to your gown, but feels fashion forward. Plus, this trend is an easy way to pull off a mid-wedding outfit change. Wear a cape or capelet for a more formal look during your ceremony, then whisk it away to hit the dance floor at your reception. Short, Sassy Dresses
Whether you show off your legs (and a killer pair of heels) in an embellished mini or opt for a more conservative midi-length number, a wedding dress with a flirty hemline is a chic way to mix it up. Not willing to give up your dream ball gown? Change into a shorter frock to spice up your reception or after-party.  Plunging Necklines
The deep V-neckline is a must-try for two reasons: It flatters your upper body (even if you're busty!) and elongates your frame. A plunging V with scalloped lace is ultra-feminine, while a sleek V plays up the inherently sexy vibe of a curve-skimming silhouette. Just make sure you have fashion tape handy the day of to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.
      Skinny Straps
We love this trend for two reasons: A gown with barely there straps has all of the sex appeal of a strapless neckline, plus added support. We call that a bridal fashion win.
    • Hello all,
I am here to get some suggestions on the best places to go on a honeymoon. I am getting married by the end of next month.
I was thinking of Bali or Maldives. But just wanted to know other beautiful and romantic places. The wedding banquet hall is a gift from our parents. The hall they have booked for us is one of the best banquet halls in Vaughan I’ve ever seen... Other arrangements like the videographer, photographer, wedding dress, reception dress are all finalized. The next week we have the pre-wedding shoot. Also, I'll start sending the invitations the same week. So, it is going to be hectic and I don't have time to rest or look for some nice places. So, if anyone here could suggest some places would be a great help.
      Let me know your suggestions.
      Thanks in advance!
