I am counting kids as well and my sister said dont count the kids as they wont have seats anyway.... im just worrying over nothing i expect but i want everyone to have a good time n not be worrying about where to plonk their bums!!!

We did have our first "officail" RSVP through the door yesterday :-) Whoo!! and 2 of my friends their hubbys and kids booked accommodation in Annan yesterday too... so its starting to become a reality... maybe thats why im worrying..... xxx

Yes, i think Dan is right to pay for the hair again for the AHR is a bit much, do they have to have it the same way for the AHR as they did for the wedding? As long as its nicely done? Maybe suggest that to them and at the same time just say you cant really be paying again and would they mind doing their own hair or paying as Mexico has cost an arm and a leg and so has the AHR..... Im sure they will be OK about it as i know if it was me and the bride said i would have to pay for own i wouldnt mind... Especially because of all the other thongs you would have paid for etc x

Oh glad your feeling better Nic. Its horrible all the worry that comes with the wedding. Getting RSVP's always puts a smile on my face too :o) I'm sure it'll be ok and if your group of friends are anything like mine the men will be proping up the bar and the girls will be dancing the night away (until the drunken men join us ;o) Mainly family and olders doing the sitting. But dont fret. You just enjoy your night :o)

I know you are so right and no they dont need to have their hair the same for the AHR but i think they will. That might be a good way to bring it up actually. I might say 'oh you dont have to have your hair the same at the AHR if you dont want'... and then maybe say ' what do you want me to do, send Charlotte (hairdresser) to your room? That way they might take the hint.... god i'm such a scardy cat ha ha... anything to get out of it lol

glad your feeling better nicy i'm sure the room will be fine when you go to see it again.

we're also starting to stress over the number of guests.

our room will hold about 250 comfortably but we are trying to keep the numbers down to 200 for cost. our current list has 240 guests on it ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, not sure what to do. i'm sure there will be people who can't make it but what if we don't get rsvps and then everyone did actually turn up

lol

herbie, my WC said that we need 4 witnesses who have stayed in the country for 3 working days. they can apparently be relations too.

hows your new wedding coordinator?x

Hi Lyndsey my new wc is okay, hasn't give in to giving any offers yet though :-( I'm gonna wait till I get out there to sort some things out ie cocktails when we walk back down the isle, and the way I want things set up. We done our draft list for ahr today omg we had about 300+ on it OH had put everyone down that he works with where I had only put people I really talk too. Think we need to revise this list later in the week :-) Hair and make up trials thursday can't wait but have only got three bridesmaids coming. Just seen another place today advertising bridal nights with free hair and makeup trials, must be the new in thing. Might go to that one aswell lol

Lyndsey, I love the brochures, they are fab hun and the picture is wicked.

Michelle, Your hair style looks amazing, I love the side style for the bridesmaids and little Scarlett's. xx

Nicy, I'm glad that you're feeling better about the AHR, I agree with the other girls if you're not having a sit down meal it shouldn't really matter as you do want people to be up and dancing.  Try not to stress babe, it will all work out in the end and you'll wonder what you were so worried about. xx

I had the photographer/videographer come around on Saturday to show me his portfolio.  Wow wow wow, is all i can say, i was so impressed, his photography is amazing, he also showed me 3 wedding DVD's just the highlights and i was blubbing like a baby watching them.  We've decided to go for the 'storybook' album, i don't know if you girls know these type of albums but they are amazing like a magazine telling the story of your whole day.  Because we booked the videographer too, we got a 20% discount on his already very reasonable prices so I have come in £300 under budget.  We're going to put this towards trying to get the draping for the golf club.

Lol, my FI did the same thing. I made him take them all off lol. He's now only got about 9 couples coming. It gets out of hand otherwise. I work from home so all i can invite is little ol me. ha ha.. But even now ours have gone out he comes home and says "shell how many have we got coming now cos so and so asked me today if we were having an AHR" and i'm like NO Dan!!! Its not a frigging work do! hee hee.. Firm but fair I think lol.

God where are you seeing these free hair trial ad's? I want one lol. I'd love someone to show me how to do makeup too :o) I have no idea. I might just go beauty counter in HofF and see someone. Which is best benefit or Mac? I've heard they are both good :o)

Take pix and show us your hair x

Hi All,

I found this thread fairly recently and have just been sort of skimming it.  I'm getting married at Dreams Tulum on 10 March 2011.  We fly next Monday.  I'm not terribly stressed about it, apart from one thing, for which I really, really need some advice!!!

Ten of us are flying as a group on Thomas Cook.  I booked the wedding directly with the resort months before I booked the travel and accommodation.  I assumed I'd be able to take my wedding dress as a carry-on.  I checked their website, which says, wedding dresses must be packed as hold luggage (unless, of course, you've booked your wedding through them).  I thought I'd be able to get around this, as the bridal shop I got my dress from said they could pack my dress into hand luggage, so I could carry it on anyway.  Well, here's the fun bit... I looked up Thomas Cook's cabin bag allowance, which is 43cm x 28cm x 23cm (which doesn't mean anything to me, because I think in inches)... so I started looking online for a bag that would fit this... It doesn't exist!!!  I can't find a bag like this anywhere!!!!

My FI thinks I should just get a box with exactly those dimensions, because they couldn't turn it down.  I'm worried that they would find a reason and then my dress would be in a box in hold luggage, which would be even worse.  I'm thinking that I should just get a bag that's closest to the dimensions I can find and hope that they'll let it through.

Maybe I'm worrying over nothing, but if everything else were to go wrong (rain, etc.), the dress is the one thing I would wantcry.gif

I only have a week... PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!!!!  Any advice at all would be appreciatedembarrassed.gif

Hi congrats on your very soon wedding!!! so exciting. Have you looked up the wedding travel boxes on ebay? I know a couple of girls on here have them and i'm sure they would do one for your diamensions (they do different sizes). If your dress is in a bag or box to their hand luggage requirements i can't see it being a problem. Dont tell them its your wedding dress. Just carry it through. I know how you feel. We are flying with Monarch and get no extra allowance and they are so stricked with what you can and cant take on. I am going to get a box and just hope it be ok. As long is its the right size. I am more worrying about the weight as we only get 5kg and my dress is really heavy :o( I will go bridezilla nuts if they make me put it in the hold!!! I'm sure one of the girls on here will post a link for you. Good luck and i hope it all works out for you. Let us know how you got on :o)

Hi ladies

I just need a bit of advice, it might sound like a bit of a dumb question...do I send my save the dates out to everybody, even if i'm only inviting them to the reception and not the actual church ceremony or do i only send it out to the people who are attending both ceremony and reception???  Even as i'm writing this it sounds like a dumb question, I am assuming that I would send it to everybody regardless of what part of the day they are attending...but just to be sure please advise!!!  stupid.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
