NEWBIE--DREAMS--Summer 2011

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

This is my first post, but I've been "checking out" the website for about a week now. Although I'm not engaged yet, a little birdie has told me it's happening within the next few weeks! We've decided we want a destination and have even already decided on Dreams in Cabo sometime in June/July of 2011. (call me crazy, yes, but I know already see how much work goes into planning every detail of a destination wedding and we want to make sure we have plenty of time to get the planning doen to a perfection!)

I'm currently spending time reading through all of the old threads so that I don't end up asking questions that have already been asked/answered (though I'm sure a lot of that ends up happeneing anyhow!). I look forward to chatting with you all as we all get excited, nervous, anxious, all of the above, for our BIG day!

To those of you who have already booked @ dreams, was a year enough advance to get the date that you wanted? Or at least within a few weeks? It seems like such a gorgeous place, I can imagine that sometimes you need to book sooner that that?

Thanks!

Ashley (and William)

Welcome to the forum Ashley! I am a Dreams bride (June 2011). I booked my date back in February of this year so it was not a problem at all getting the date I wanted. However, I am seeing that there are a lot more June 2011 brides now so I can imagine that some of the summer dates are getting taken up. You can always send an email to the wedding team at Dreams and they can tell you if your date in mind has already been taken. I would think with a year in advance and a little flexibility, you will be fine :)

Keep us posted on your future engagement!

Hi Ashley and welcome to the forum. Can't wait to hear all about your proposal. I'm sure it will come soon. We booked our date for October 2010 in late January 2010 without much problem. There were a couple dates I was considering that were already gone but it was pretty easy getting a date I wanted. I didn't have an exact date in mind, just knew I wanted a Thursday in late Oct or early Nov and it all worked out. Given that you are more than a year away, it shouldn't be too bad. You can always email now and ask about dates for June/July 2011 to get an idea of what is available. Good luck!

Hi Ashley,

Welcome to the forum. I am just waiting for the room rates to come out for Dreams Cabo in April next year and then I will be booking! I have been in contact with David at Dreams about dates and he has always been great at getting back to me!

Good luck.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
