Hey fellow brides! I haven't checked in for a while, but my time is finally here...we will be getting married in six days. Definitely not getting any sleep at this point and hoping for a smooth wedding and more importantly getting to the Jade safely as we're expecting a big snow storm tomorrow.
I had a quick question for those of you who have gotten married already or have planned out the finances. What do you consider approrpriate tips for everything and which individuals do you plan to tip? I'm a little unsure if i should tip a percentage of the total quote or what is the general rule on this? Also to the different vendors...Thanks, I appreciate any input and happy planning :-)

This is slightly off-topic, but have your guests been booking and getting good prices? It seems like the cost of a total trip to the resort has gone up substantially over the last few months. Has anyone else noticed this? Do you guys think it fluctuates and will go back down?

I haven't noticed personally. A couple of my guest said they found cheaper rates, but I do know that their rates do not include roundtrip airport transfers or room upgrade, ect. I'd be interested in knowing what other brides think here too. Totally NOT off topic

Earlier last year the hotel had just changed ownership and changed their name so I think a lot of us got a lower price because they were trying to attract people to the resort. So im not surprised that the prices have gone up.
On a happier note my wedding night outfit came today it has benn backorderd since december, but it is finally HERE!!!!!
24 more days till we leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went in July and I felt that it was significantly cheaper then. We got the best rates through cheap carribbean for packages but on average each of my guests spent about 1100 per person from New York staying for 5 days...We are staying for 10 nights and ending up paying over 3600 for both of us, we locked in those pricing in september and I feel like they are still climbing

Remember that the agents here on the forum can typically price match for you to any search engine you might find online... and provide you with much more personal service than you would get with something like Cheap Caribbean, Expedia or Orbitz. We are here to help! : )

Thanks so much for offering to help. I actually have a travel agent that can pricematch as well. The problem is that the price in general seems to have increased greatly over the last few months. I know the prices in Riviera Maya have been known to fluctuate, but I'm not sure if I should tell my family/friends to hold off until the prices come down or to book now before they get any higher! Do you think they will come back down? Thanks for your help!
