Goo morning! For our OOT bags we're doing one per room, but if it's a couple, they'll get double of some of the things. Here's what we've got to put in them so far: Insulated travel mugs Reed deodorizers Welcome letter Postcards First Aid Kit Hand sanitizer Ginger candies (for nausea) RU21 (anti-hangover meds) Natural anti-diarrhea pills Emergen-C Lanyards Ziplock keycard holders I may hit the dollar store again for some travel game books or maybe decks of cards, but I don't want to have to ask anyone to bring anything down since we want to keep it a surprise. On another note, I finally got the disc from our engagement shoot and both FI and I are glad it was gratis. Since she is trying to build her portfolio and start doing this for money, do you think there is a polite way to let her know our true thoughts? FI and I do photoshoots together (headshots for actors and such) and he is a wiz at Photoshop, so I don't know if we're too cryitical perhaps? I mean, in so many of the shots the point of focus wasn't on either one of us! There were a couple nice ones, but the majority were disappointing. And finally, had a very disappointing call with my parents last night. They basically told me that we probably should have just eloped as it would have been easier for everyone. I'm not really sure what part has been difficult for them...I'm doing all the planning, I booked their trip, FI and I are even paying for their hotel stay, all they have to do is show up at the airport. Just venting and disappointed, that's all :-(

Wow another busy day! Thanks for all the replies on OOT bags. I forgot I also had doorhangers in there. We also have maracas for the reception kissing thing, starfish wine bottle stoppers, fans for the ceremony and rose petals in little bags for each guest rather than bubbles.

I am going to have to figure out the number of couples and singles and see about budget but I would love to add more stuff!

Still not sure what to get the parents as gifts though. We have our gifts for the BM's and BM.

lsmith-that is awesome, good for you. I can't wait till mine comes in but in the meantime I am taking the knockoff I got that was far from perfect and going to a seamstress on sunday to see what we can do with it for a reasonable cost so I can maybe salvage it for my TTD. It's a beautiful dress with amazing beadwork but was way too big, beads in wrong place and the boning wasn't strong enough to hold up the girls!

Lua-my two cents would be insulated mugs, I live by them at a resort, always bring my own rather than the koozies but if that is out of the budget then scrap them. If alot of your guest are beer drinkers then the koozie would be the way to go though!

Mocha-I thought about trying to find them in mexico but I was going to be far too busy and the first couple of days before the wedding that I didn't want that stress and really wanted them for the reception so I went with Amols, they are super cheap, I think I paid1.22$ per maraca after all was said and done with shipping to the states. My granma and friend are going to split them up and bring them in their suitcases because they are only coming for 4 days and won't have much to pack. The girl I dealt with is Monica, you can call her and she will give you a cost to canada if you are interested.

Sorry to hear that Michelle-my dad told me at the beginning of this that I should have spent 10$ and got married at city hall!!!!! First it's not 10 dollars and Second you can imagine how hurtful that way, anyway he has since smartened up and is on board now thank god because we are so close and the silent treatment to him was killing me lol

OMG 96 days for me! and we leave in 93~ yipee!

you ladies are killing me with the counting of the days.....

My dad initially told us to go to city hall as well....I guess it's just something to say.. Now he has invited all of his friends pretty crazy.  Don't worry about them.  Again it is YOUR day.

fmichelle - Nothing about a wedding is easy! Sorry you had to listen to your parents talk negatively. We figured out that no one was ever going to be happy with our choices, so we should at least pick what we wanted. You're right, if you're footing the bill, they should be happy you included them. The furthest my FMIL has been away from home is our house, five hours, and she once complained that she "had" to have an ocean view. I told her I couldn't guarantee that and to book her own trip if she wasn't happy with the arrangements we could make. There's always someone to complain.

Lisa - I was going to go to Amols. I think I will ask around work about shipping to somewhere in Buffalo that will hold a package. I am just starting to get concerned about luggage space. I'm glad your dad has embraced the DW.

Thanks guys, that definitely makes me feel better (not that I'm happy your P's weren't totally on board, but the fact that they came around) I guess it also makes the fact that we're doing the legal thing here first and not telling anyone nor including them easier too. I honestly believe that once we're all down there they'll finally get why we chose this route. Hopefully ;-) I also forgot that we're doing door hangers as well.

Mocha - I saw those at Micheals too!! I'd totally forgotten to post about them. Super cute!

As for OOT, we're not doing them. It's so much to bring along and all of our guests will have this stuff anyone (plus FI's mom is a pharmacist and is ALWAYS stocked, haha). I'm making a "magazine" as our welcome letter. With the letter in it, everyone bio's and pics, info about the resort, games, etc. I think it'll be really cute :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
