I think the best way to get a hold of Mayte is through email, but she isn't the quickest responder.  So, be patient with her.  This is the address: [email protected]

I'm sure you can ask her about bringing a DJ, I've seen people who've had friends do it, so I doubt it's an issue.  Same thing with photo/video...

I'm using Caribbean Emotions, they are a photo/video team who live in PC.  I've heard nothing but wonderful things about them, their pictures and videos look amazing, and the price is super good...might be worth checking out...

Happy planning, and welcome.gif

Finally got a response email from Mayte!  Someone on here said she had some time off for the holidays, but she says the opposite, she was just super busy.  Give her time, ladies who are waiting for replies.

Now my question for those of you who have had your wedding already, is it safe to send out my invitations now for my June 2012 wedding at the Jellyfish?  She assures me the date is reserved, but has not given me an amount for deposit and instructions to send it, even after I have made the request twice.  I really wanted to have a deposit in before sending the invites, mostly for my own peace of mind, but I really need to get people to start booking.  Thoughts?  Advice?

Also, how close to the wedding did you start planning details with her?  Did you email things like colors, flowers, decor, etc as you chose them, or did she ask for it all at a certain point?  When does all that happen?

I was the same way... I ended up telling her that I wanted to send a deposit to guarantee my date BUT I had no idea (still don't) exactly what my bill with be since I haven't choosen food or anything for her to give me a quote.  I didn't want to choose any of that till I knew how many people I was going to have.  So I just sent her $600 and she was good with that.  she sent me an email back saying she received the deposit and the date was mine.

I'm getting married the weekend after you (June 29th) and I'm getting ready to send out my invites.  I too didn't want to send them till I was confirmed that I had the Jellyfish :)

so you could always do that...

My response was for her to use 30 guests as an estimate for pre-invoice and I told her I'd patiently wait for her to send me instructions for deposit.  Hopefully she will let me know by the end of the month.  By the time I get all the invites together I'd like to have them in the mail no later than Jan 31.

Still a little jealous you got my date (6/29), but I'm not at all disappointed to have 6/24 and to have it at the Jellyfish ;-)

Good info, thanks! I think I will try this too. Since the process seems to be so slow, maybe I'll just do my own estimate and send about $500-600. Did you use paypal or a bank transfer?

For real!  I didn't know you originally wanted the 29th... sorry :(  I actually originally wanted the 22nd, but it didn't work out for us...  I guess a lot of people are getting married around that time.

I had to do a Bank Transfer.  That was the only way Mayte said we could put the deposit down.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
