If you already had a wedding in DR, how far in advance did you and your guests book your flights? I'm just so afraid to keep waiting because I'm scared that flights will go up and up and up... Any suggestions will be much appreciated! :)

Hey Anya!!

Yeah, it's always a bit of a gamble... Do you have a great travel agent? You should check with a few agencies - it's always a better deal when you book an all-inclusive package, especially for a group. November is usually one of the busiest months for weddings here, mostly because the prices are cheaper than around Christmas. Boston is an easy 3.5 hour direct flight, so the tickets shouldn't be expensive. Good luck lady!

Hello ladies,

I received the  bank info from Mayte. I've never done a wire transfer before and when I went to Bank of America they informed me I would need to open an account with them to be able to do it. Has anyone sent the deposit through their own bank? ( I have Chase)

Thank you

Thank you, Katya! We got a room block at the hotel, but coudln't tie it in with the flights package because all of our guests are going at different times, so it was hard to coordinate. I think I'll just have to bite the bullett and get the flights now (they are hovering around $600).

I was able to do it through Bank of America, and I did not have an account with them.... I did it as a transfer. Maybe try another branch? After I made the transfer, I scanned the confirmation receipt they gave me, and emailed it to Mayte, so that there was a record of it via email as well.

Thank you MissyBee,

I did as you suggested and made my deposit today.

Would any past bride that had fresh flowers be willing to share what the total cost was? I would like a lot of fresh flowers but based on the info Mayte sent me I have no idea what the cost might be.

Thanks ladies

I have the same question, I am also realizing that more and more people are starting to use Real Touch flowers. I spoke to Mayte about flowers because i really want Peonies and she told me they are difficult to get and quite expensive. sad.gif

Hi ladies- has anyone stayed at Melia? I am trying to finalize the resort and can't decide. We were think Melia but when I Emailed them - its going to cost a lot of money $15/hr/person for just the rehearsal /welcome dinner. Since we are not getting married there. That seems like a lot $$. Just trying to budget everything before we decide. We are not set on staying at Melias but thought it might be convenient since its next to jellyfish. Any recommendations is appreciated! Thanks so much.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
