i wanted to make it more personalized so i created my own design. i used regular paper in the pic on my first post so that's why it looks all wrinkled. i'm planning to use cardstock when i do the final ones. here's what it looks like when it's flat so you can get an idea of how to do the layout on your computer.

just an fyi ladies – i'm a graphic designer so it's easy for me to create all this stuff. but EVERYONE has a creative side and i've seen sooo many diy projects in this forum that have inspired me as well!

hi! i bought these at ikea in the garden section. i just checked their website and it's not available online. the great thing about these is that it's not as heavy as glass and i don't have to worry about whether they might break when i bring it to mexico.

i found my inspiration pic at the link below. check it out because they've got other great ideas!

Here are the instructions I used.
not martha — to make: marble magnets
To dress up the back/hide the paper try some sparkle glue.
Awesome thank you so much for the link! I never knew these were so easy to make and I love the look! I totally know what I'm doing this weekend now cheesy.gif

a few other tips:

if you don't have access to a color laser printer you can get a few sheets printed at staples or something which will probably cost a few bucks (be aware that colors on your computer screen differ from what you will see on paper). i was able to fit 120 of the little circles on a sheet of paper and 30 of the large ones on another sheet so you'll only need to print a few sheets of each!

i used aleene's clear gel tacky glue from michaels to adhere the paper to the marble. it worked great! make sure to smooth out any air bubbles before the glue dries.

i used weldbond, also from michaels, to bond the magnet to the back of the paper/marble. this glue was a little frustrating to work with and think there are probably better glues that you can experiment with. i just chose to stick with it because it was the only brand that claimed to be "green".

if you buy your canisters from another supplier other than specialtybottle.com make sure to measure the height and width of your marbles and canisters so they fit perfectly.

also, as i mentioned below, make sure to get extra marbles since ALOT of them will likely have imperfections or dimples in them.

just holler if you have other questions!
Thank you for all the extra tips and pointers! I've had troubles with some projects already, flipping between the laser printer at work and my inkjet printer at home. Good to know just to use the work one this time around :)

I really like those wood boxes!! I'm so conflicted about what to do for my centerpieces now that I've seen these - and so little time left to decide LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
