Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your engagement! :) There are SO many options in RM. The best advice I can give you is to NOT consider every single one of them or you WILL go insane! Make a list of what's important to you (large or small resorts, price range, family friendly, etc) and then get a TA who can advise you on the best resorts to match your criteria.

hi SummerDawn!

I completely understand how you feel. I felt the same way a month ago. We are going to have a small wedding with on child....so it had to be a resort that allowed kids. We ended up picking Dreams Riviera Cancun. I liked that they had premium alcohol a swimup bar, no reservations for the restaurants and a heated pool. Also the rooms look pretty and the beach looks nice. They have a fb page if you want to check it out.

To help you decided I would call a couple different travel agents and get their opinions. Also I looked on expedia just to look at hotel pics and then went to trip advisor and read TONS of reviews. It was a lengthy process but worth it!!! good luck to you:)

I agree, picking the resort is completely the hardest part! I really had trouble deciding on a location but for me it came down to the wedding packages that the hotel had to offer. The Riu chain is great in terms of for families and they have great wedding packages....so far no complaints anyway.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
