She said that if prices drop, we can adjust the rate once

Has anyone else been required to put down deposits to hold the quote?? I feel like I need to frantically send out STD's to inform my guests! Also... what about guests who still dont know for sure if they will be able to come? I feel like they are being forced to make a huge decision very rushed!
yes, it is a bit of a rush, we have less time than you - 21 days as the rate was limited time, our TA set us up with a rate/info sheet that we used in place of STDs. i did send out a "rates are coming soon" email to everyone last month preparing them that rates will come at any moment and a deposit to be due.

so far we're moving along, we're got about 8 out of the 10 rooms required by the company for a group and our last day is June 15.

we figure worse case, we'll just put the deposit down for the remaining rooms, let the ones who have told us they really aren't sure know that we have ## amount of rooms held at the group rate, and it goes to whoever deposits first. Unfortunately all others thereafter will have to book at prevailing rates at the time they decide.

so it kind of depends on the company you're booking with but it's better to get the info out to your guests asap so they can see the pricing =)

Thought I'd let everyone know that some AI prices have dropped online. Our resort was $2456 CDN and is now $2108 for the week of our wedding. Was very happy to see that this morning.

I normally use itravel2000....but if you have a different one I'd love to know!

I used Itravel and Sell Off which gave me the same rates.

Silly question maybe..how are you all set on a resort and wedding date if youre not officially booked yet? How do you go about sending STD's?

As long as you know your wedding date you can wait to see if prices come down at all. Some people are having a small enough wedding that they can just tell all the people attending what the date is and to wait to book until prices come down. My resort that I am looking at right now can't provide group rates this early, so I have to wait until they can to actually book tickets, however I will still be reserving my wedding date so no one else can take it!

I use itravel2000 to check initial prices and then I have this great TA that if he can will offer me a discount on the fare, depending on the tour operator and the net fare. If anyone is interested his name is Paul and his email address is flynow@thepatchvacations.com, it can't hurt to get a quote! .
