We were really open about it (hello I am such a blabbermouth) and while I am glad we didn't "hide" anything or deceive anyone, I kinda wish we had been slightly more discreet about it. It's a pain having to explain to people that you consider the paperwork to be a formality only, that the wedding is your "real" wedding, etc.

so I just sent a letter by email telling everyone that knows about Friday the details....

 

well I didn't send the letter to FSIL because I sent the letter to erik's brother who I figured would communicate to his wife about the details...

 

Well...

I just got a call from my FFIL and he told me that I had to send her the letter, I told him, "Well I thought FBIL would relay the message to her"

he said, "I still think you should send it to her so she knows....because you sent it to me and my wife...."

 

Oh brother....Mind you FPIL LOVE FSIL....i don't like her much....

i'm not worried about the blood test - i do phelbotomy myself...i'm worried about the paperwork. and i can tell that FI is nervous everything won't get done in time for our wedding.

 

i was divorced 3 year ago...so I need to have my divorce decree translated and it sounds like that takes an additional 48 hours to translate in addition to the standard 3 day waiting period?? has anyone had to deal with this?

I think that is a great idea! And I think I'm going to steal that idea and do the very same thing. Because to us, that is all that it is ... paperwork.

I'm also having a Wedding/Marriage Certificate made to have on hand at out DW so that our witnesses sign it and everything. It won't be our 'legal' certificate ... but it will be our 'real' certificate.

no problems!!

 

We have to get it done before, so the coordinator sees the certificate and we still get the benefits of the weddingmoon specials. She does the ceremony herself (no need for the judge then) and she says the guests will not know the difference.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
