    Hi Ladies,

My honey is not only my FI and my future Hubby, but he's also my BF so my first dress fitting my honey to be was there. I know they say NOT to have him see your dress etc... etc... but in all honesty he is the one person I truly believe will tell me what looks fabulous and what doesn't look so fabulous (in his eyes everything is fabulous but only 1 is perfect). In the end he won't see me in the "final" dress I choose however he has seen me in a wedding gown, is this only me doing something so unconventional? or am I just nuts? share your thoughts!

LOL I know what you mean. Honestly the first time I went he went with me. My mom was like "hes not supposed to see your dress." I have mine handing up in a bag but I have to take it out once a month to let it get air. Im sure he has seen it but I did not show it to him on purpose

My FI has seen a picture of the dress but he hasn't seen me in the dress. I really don't see why it's such a big deal. I was going to bring the dress to my house to hang up but everyone said "no he may see it." I'm like so what but anyway the dress is at my mother's house now so I'm sure he won't see it before the wedding but if he did I don't know what the big deal is.

Mine has not and won't. But do whatever you feel fits you & your FI. We are going to see each other right before the wedding, which I know is always a debate too.

I dont think its a issue, i hate all those stupid rules that its bad luck. My FI didnt go with me when i when dress shopping but looked at all the pictures of me in the dresses after the fact. i didnt want something he hated. The dress i chose was only one of two that he really liked in all 40 plus pictures i shown him. I had to show him the picture a couple of months later cause he completely forgot what it looked like and if i asked him today he would be able to pick it out.

Ladies, you're right to each their own.....I still am on the hunt for the perfect dress my first fitting didn't go as I thought it would, the lady was awful, I was trying on a pretty Maggie Sottero dress.... some of the other ones didn't fit and this one fit beautifuly and she made a comment that Maggie is a big girl herself so she caters to that type.... I expected walking out of my first fitting to feel beautiful instead I walked out with a complex..... not ideal for your first fitting, but I was happy that my FI was there, because he put a smile on my face =)

Exactly what carolina24 said..he's not seeing me until before the wedding, not because of silly superstitions, but because I want him to be surprised :) But it's not a big deal...of course, everyone should do what's right for them!

My FI hasen't seen my dress either even though I have had it for a while now, it's funny but he doesn't want to see anything related to what I will be wearing that day as he wants to be surprised! I think it's cute!

Sylvie, don't worry about the fitting, I went to a few and I was convinced that I was a fat cow, one place that i went to - the lady told me that there were only a few dresses that I could try on as all their samples were too small! I felt pretty dry but then a co-worker explained to me that that place mostly rents out the dresses and caters to certain ethnicities..........
