This is the first I have heard of giving a gift to the FI.  I don't know if it is more of an American thing or I am just not aware of the idea.   I know my guy does not expect anything nor do I.  We are so excited to be able to go on a holiday and celebrate our love and commitment to each other, that is our gift to each other.  Maybe I have been living in a cave for real? I always did say that I like hiding out in my cave.

I hadn't heard of it either but I'm with you on the cave.  :)

I did my BD shoot in April and had a blast...make sure to bring along a few cocktails and a good friend to get you loosened up! The pictures turned out so great, I couldn't wait until our wedding night (still 10 months out) so I ended up giving them to him for his BDay, but he knows they were really supposed to be his wedding gift!

On our wedding day, while we were getting ready separately, I had my father take my husband a Citizen Eco-Drive watch I'd gotten him (which he loves!) and sent back to me a right-hand ring (a small, 3 stone ring set in a 'wave' type of band design, which he later said to was meant remind me of the waves in Jamaica on the day we got married).  Super romantic, and we both wear our gifts everyday!  love.gif  And what's better is we put a $200 limit on what we could get each other before hand, so we found some really great bargains and have another daily reminder of the best day of our lives -- win-win!!!

I've been trying to figure out what to get FI for months! I thought of doing a BD as a gift for him but I'm just way too self conscious. I know it's silly cuz FI loves the way I look but I'm just not that comfortable in my skin.

So... I decided to get FI a custom-made crucifix and chain in white gold. He currently wears a yellow gold set that his parents got for him when he turned 19. I know he's been wanting to get a new one for a while (he has a really cool cross tattoo on his back). So I sneaked a picture of his tattoo and am having our jeweler replicate that design in white gold. I'll have it delivered to him the morning of our wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
