My fiance is actually the brother of one of my good friends! We first met at a party she had in high school when her parents were out of town (he was 21 and up from college, he and his friends bought the alcohol hahaha). We had a brief romance then, stayed in touch through here over the years, and then "re-met" when he was in town visiting her one weekend... we've been together ever since (2 years now).
Me and my FI met in our GMAT prep class. We were with someone else at that time, went out for like a dinner to exchange notes and somehow kept in touch thru MSN messenger, just say hi..how are u..etc...a year after we re-connect again, we've been together for 4 yrs (bought a house and live together for 3 yrs). My FI always said that his $300 investment on that GMAT class was the best investment, because he didn't go for his MBA, but now he is sleeping next to a MBA! heehee

Ravy,

Welcome!!! I just have to let u know that the wait for ur WC to get back to you is NORMAL. The Barcelo WC used to get back to me 3 wks later, the Ocean Turquesa took 2-3 days...it depends on how busy they are...so..just be patient!

Hi Ravywedding,

I'm a Moon Palace bride as well. I'm getting married October 2011. I've signed a contract and put a deposit down. I've sent emails to the WC and have gotten responses the next day or 2 days later. From what I hear, they are very slow in returning emails. I haven't really experienced that yet. Maybe because I have a Wedding specialist involved. Apparently, as the date gets closer, they stay in contact with the bride to be. I hope so because I get easily annoyed when people don't respond in a timely manner.

I had been working in Tenerife for 15 months and came home (June 2001) and was having a laugh with my friend online about a week after i got back.... then got talking to Stephen at first with him living in Scotland and me around 200 miles away in England we never thought we'd actually meet, but it was only 3 weeks later that we did (July 2001) and the rest as they say is history!!!! I am so glad i came home from Tenerife when I did or I wouldnt be here now!!! :-)

Mines not romantic - just wierd like something from Jerry Springer. But we all laugh about it now.

I went round to one of my mates houses for a few drinks one evening and Buster (my FI) was there. He had been chucked out of his dads house after an argument so went to my friends house whilst he found himself somewhere to live. My friend was married to Busters dad a few years before (she is not his mum) and they had since divorced (she was v young when she met his dad). We started chatting and as he had to stay at my friends for a few weeks before his flat was ready we started going on nights out and the rest they say is history! Serious Jerry Springer stuff - but everyone gets on fine now and we laugh about it whenever it crops up. lol.

We have been together 5 years; I already had a flat i had bought 5 years before so he moved in with me after a year. We got engaged in Oct last year after I proposed to him on a trip travelling around Poland! And booked the wedding 2 weeks later.......

We really are the most unconventional couple x

My brother is in the navy and the ship was having family join for a 3 day sail (they were on their way home from a 6 month deployment). I met him in St. John's, Nfld (basically the other side of the country from where I was living in Vancouver, BC), along with all the other officers for a night out on the town before sailing the next day. Josh (FI) was flying out the next morning but kept me company while out on the town. He flew home and dumped his g/f. I arrived home and found him on Facebook. He decided to fly out to see me a week later. We spent 2 weekends together and we were smitten! We met in Oct, he flew to Vancouver in November, we bought a condo in Halifax, NS (where he's posted) in January and I moved across the country in March. He proposed on Boxing Day! It's been a whirlwind for sure!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
