Recommended Posts

Sorry Michelle, thats right I remember now.... I knew you'd done something with the date :-) Yeah, I love reading the reviews of all the different resorts, Its calms me down really about bits of my panicking... coz every review has always turned out perfect regardless of any minor hiccups :-)

Yes definatly a good tip about any emails... this is a must i think, even if you dont need to bring them out of your bag... at least you have it as a back up :-)

Ok, ladies, I just came up with an idea that in my opinion is awesome and I thought I would let you know and maybe it will become a trend! My site visit is a year before our marriage, so we will be in the same area (Cancun) on the date a year before. So I thought, why not have a Preversary date night. Just another date to look forward to celebrate. And then I thought, I'm not the only one who has to wait for more than a year, so you all would probably benefit too. Just think, plan on a date night on the date of your wedding a year before - a Preversary Date! Just because it sucks to wait so long. What do you all think?

Great idea - in theory - but Im not sure everyones finances would stretch to this! Its great if you can do. But not really an option for us UK brides or those coming further afield.

Oh, I didn't mean to go to your location, just to have a date. And you're right, I was worried how many fiances would for another date.. they are just boring sometimes.

Linhy - my planning is ok. I had a photographer, but he declined recently due to future family expansions and moving, so now I'm trying to get that straight. I like the resort guy (but it's expensive to up the package to full day), a photo/video team from home (near chicago) and a North Carolina photog. I'm just waiting on the best value and then I will have that set. Other wise, nothing much else. The fam knows but it's too far out to book. So no favors or anything have been purchased (but I'm dying to). And I really want these Swarovski Crystal filled flutes, but they are soooo expensive...grrrr. Ok, enough ranting, How about your planning? The Dreams Riviera Cancun looked wonderful, but since it's newer, it is a little more expensive, so we chose Dreams Cancun. I love your resort though, and you are going to have fabulous pics!

peterpanpixiedust- That's great!! Really? When I was looking into the Dreams Resort and the Dreams Rivera they told me a while back that it was similar pricing. Maybe prices change? I am going to write a great review about her later. Same to you! your pictures will try out lovely as well. You should add music on your website!

I know what you mean Chris. There's so many things I want to purchase. All the flowers that my WC sent me I am not too impress with it.. blah like for the center pieces. Are you having a big wedding? We invited 40 but only expect 20-30 people. You should do tequila tasting.. I know they have it at the dreams. Its a tequila tasting with a Mexican Festa. We are planning to do that after the wedding so Sunday evening. This way sunday is a lazy day and at night we do the fun tequila tasting.

LOL! I am doing exactly the same. However, my intention is really to test the ground, menu, location, temperature, weather...and bug the WC face to face!

It felt like someone just kicked me in the gut...lol The prices for my resort are higher than what I was expecting. It's cool cause it's gonna happen but wow!

And I've should be going to my first dress shopping experience next sunday. I'm excited. I'm not planning on actually buying a dress just want to try some on to see how they fit. I did try on a dress that a friend of mine was considering selling to me but I had to do it at work and no one was around to critique me so I passed on it. (not to mention i'm 5'8 and she's 5'2)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
