Any 2011 Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Hey girls!! I'm looking at The Royal in Cancun, Mexico for May 6th, 2011. I'm so excited!!!! I'm almost ready to put the deposit down just making sure my video and photo services are available as well. It seems like I have planning this forever lol.

For all those brides looking for a resort that allows children this is an all inclusive resort for adults only but has a sister all inclusive resort right next door that allows children which is also a lot cheaper in case some family can't afford the more expensive adult only resort. They also allow your family to come over the day of the wedding for no extra charge and you can use the sister resorts' amenities whenever you would like only catch is if you are staying at the sister resort you have to pay a small daily fee to use the royal in Cancun amenities. But I also heard they aren't to strict about this as long as your an adult.

I hope this helps everyone. If any brides have visited this resort or have been married at this location I would love to hear your feedback and advice.

Nicyx the list is a great idea, I had an email from my hotel today and although there is a slight language barrier i think she has put 'on hold' our wedding date. 28th May 2011. Her email was a little confusing so i am waiting for her to get back to me to confirm she has held that date for us! Fingers x'd. It's all happening!

Hello and welcome3.gif to our new brides.

Michelle2011, congratulations on (reserving) the date, thats brilliant news :-) Im really excited for you!!! WOW!!!

Can i ask are you booking directly through your resort or are you going through a TA? As were doing it through a TA Thomspon/First choice and we cant reserve a date yet etc?

Haha, its good to see the list like that though i think... Its nice to see Resorts and Dates being confirmed to so i can add to it, i will add new brides etc to it as and when they join and then every now and again re-post it so we can see how each of us are coming along :-)

If any one requires any information on the Riu Palace Riviera Maya I have a list of Hair & make up (spa) details, the wedding packages, Ceremony locations, reception locations and some pictures of the locations aswell and some other details as kindly a couple of girls over in the FEB 2010 thread getting married there really helped me out when i first joined this site and sent me some info :-) Sorry I cant help with any other resort ut im sure we could try and source the info. The best thing to do would be to private message me your email address if you dont want to show it on here and I will forward the info to you.

Im just going to put it all together in one place as its dotted about in a few emails at the moment so if anyone mails me i will send it as soon as its ready, FI is going to steal the laptap for a while so bear with me :-)

We are getting married at the Real/Royal but in Gran Porto. I love the fact that the guests have the option on which hotel to stay at so it doesnt break their budgets! We will be staying at Real for the first few nights so we can have the wedding there, that way everyone can be together to get ready and all. Wedding night on we will transfer to Royal.

Nicyx - The WC email was a little confusing so i'm waiting for her to confirm that date for us. They will only hold it for 2 months so i'm praying the flight prices come out by end of April. My friend booked her wedding/holiday through first choice and she had so many problems, she really wouldn't recommend so that worried me. The hotel we have chosen i can only find it on Cosmos. Thomas Cook said they can book a Cosmos holiday so i will probably book through them. My friend said she had so many problems the best thing to do is to get in contact with the WC direct so they are familiar with you already. So i took her advise (figured it wouldn't hurt even if we did book it through a TA). They want to see the booking confirmation as soon as we are booked. At booking i will ask Thomas Cook what they recommend but as it stands now i will book the holiday with TA and the wedding direct with the hotel itself. Hope this makes sense!

Whoa. I was in a 2011 brides OTHER thread and somehow found this one too. Looks like us 2011ers are split in half between the two! Oh well, I'll follow both now. :o)

In a nutshell... I get engaged August 1, 2009. Bought my dress in October (dope!) and am still madly in love with it. I have Dreams Puerto Aventuras booked for April 21, 2011. My AHR will be May 7, 2011. And I am using TA Jill from this forum for all of my bookings. STDs are in, but not mailed. No photographer booked for ceremony yet, but thinking Octavio Montes for his speedy delivery of disc of images before you leave Mexico and very affordable prices.

Ok, nice to meet y'all and glad to have more people to try and patiently wait for the possibility of more things to plan.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
