Any 2011 Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies! Long time no talk! I've been reading all the posts but haven't really posted much lately...I'm being a total "lurker" haha...neenerneener.gif

Anywho, I just booked my honeymoon in Cozumel! I am sooooo so so excited. We splurged on a concierge-level suite, so I am so ready to be pampered! We're staying at Cozumel Palace which looks absolutely gorgeous, but is totally affordable. Best of both worlds!

Also just started sending out e-mails to photographers on the Riviera Maya. We're working with a pretty tight budget, so I doubt I'll be able to afford any of them and will probably have to go with the resort photogs (lame!) but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

Congrats to the new members, and to Nicola for finally booking! Woo hoo girl!

welcome3.gif new brides!!

Our wedding rings are ready to be collected today but I've got tonsillitis so the FI will be going to get them alone... I tried to tell him he couldnt look until he got back but he made a good point when he said he kind of needs to check them lol

Nicyx - YAY it feels so fab when its a year to go!! feels more real!! x
Wow you are so ahead of the game!!! I need to get cracking on looking at wedding bands!

My fiance is a commercial electrician, and it's pretty dangerous for him to wear a ring to work, so I'm pretty sure we'll go with an inexpensive white gold or silver band for him. I doubt he'll ever wear it, unless he's going out drinking with his friends and I force him to put it on friday.gif hehehe.

Thanks :-) Im so glad to have finally booked.... now it really is real :-)

As for rings, Stephen doesnt wear any jewellrey at all not even a watch, hes not too keen on the idea of wearing a wedding ring, he does want one obviously for the wedding, then like your FI when he goes out with the lads ofcourse & like you i will force him to do this, Haha :-)
Im hoping he'll get used to wearing it for our wedding and then never want to take it off!! We'll see, Im not bothered if he dosent wear it for work as it may get damaged but i would like him to wear it at ALL other times jiggy.gif xox

Yep, now all the fun begins! Meal options, photographers, ceremony locations....the decisions are never ending! I've totally put of making any decisions; I'm waiting to see how many people are actually COMING before making those choices. And other than my immediate family, NO ONE has booked yet! So frustrating...but oh well wink.gif

I so know what you mean! Although, Sean (my FI) doesn't even remember to close the cupboard doors and drawers when he's done with them, so I'm not holding out too much hope that he'll remember to put his ring on after work. Hence, getting a cheap-o ring! Ten bucks says he loses it within 6 months wink.gif

Well thought it was a good idea getting the rings sooner rather than later due to metal prices however now see the downside.. we both want to wear them NOW!!!

Who have you looked at so far? theres some fairly affordable ones out there, We booked with Ivan Luckie and compared to most you get alot for your money and his pictures are fantastic!!

One of the girls also posted a photographer comparision a while back with what you get for roughly what price which I found quite useful I still have the doc with a few additional that I added myself if you want to have a look?

Hi ladies!! Our wedding is in March 2011: in Punta Cana for sure but we are still undecided on the resort. Definitely the hardest decision! We have it narrowed down to the Iberostar Bavaro, the Majestic Colonial or Ocean Blue. Any thoughts? Good luck to everyone!!

Hello lovely ladies......... all this talk of wedding rings I havent even looked - i dont really think im cut out for this wedding lark- im one of January brides and you all seem so ahead of the game. We have a budget for the rings but i intend on taking up 95% of the budget on my ring - lol - as Buster doesnt wear any jewellery like Nicys FI not even a watch - hes also a painter and decorator so wont wear it to work as it will get ruined and wont be keen on wearing it afters as its just not him. But i would like him to wear it if we go out but know he will forget anyways.

I wouldnt mind having a look at the list as well as we are on a really tight budget as well. FI dads a photographer but if we find one within our budget we will use them as we dont want FIs dad to think we only invited him for a busmans holiday!!! :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
