(This was all my husband, but am throwing it out there) Baseball is huge in the DR, especially American teams with players from the DR. DH bought 5 Boston and Twins ball caps, which he used as a thank you to a couple of our favorite bartenders and also for bartering at the shops on the beach. They were a huge hit!

how is everyone wording their dress code? I want basically sundresses, linen pants and light dress shirts but I'm really not sure how to word it.  If I use the word "casual" in it, I know there are going to be some cargo shorts and t-shirts there.....

I'm locking in my quote at $1620 from Toronto for July 2013. It's still really high, but after receiving several quotes and having them come back higher, I didn't want to take any more chances.

Now I am hoping to take advantage of the one time price adjustment...

Yes. it is very expensive. But it is very beautiful and very worth it when traveling with 40 and plus family members.

They are usually very quick with communication (especially compared to some other resorts I contacted). I usually hear back the same day, if not, within one or two days at most. I did see on the facebook group though that one of the wedding coordinators posted a message that their email server has been down since April 11th....so they are unable to send or receive emails. They are apparently working on getting this fixed ASAP.

Thanks ladies, what airlines are your quotes from? $1350 is the price I'd hoped to pay. I really wanted to use this resort but I can't ask people to pay that. Did they give you kids prices?

My price was through my travel agent and she ended up going with Transat. They also let you hold 30 spaces for 90 days with no deposit other than the bride/grooms which was great for us to allow people to get their deposits in.

Sorry - I missed the second part of your question. Transat did give kids prices as well......under 2 is free (since they don't occupy a plane seat) and 2-12 years old was something like 890ish? Basically this is the plane/taxes portion of the package as their resort portion is free.
