How to deal when girlfriends becoming pregnant and can't come to my wedding!

Recommended Posts

We are going through the same thing. My FI's brother and his wife just announced that they are pregnant (he is the best man) and they are due in June. Now my own brother and his wife (who are both in the wedding party) are going to start trying for a baby in January. We are getting married in October or November. Ugh. So we are thinking of moving everything back to June but then all of the teachers in our group cannot come. This is crazy.

Destination weddings make things like this all the more difficult when it comes to traveling and especially babies! I can totally relate!

Everytime I would even talk about a date or even a season in the year, somebody is talking babies. Eventually I was came to the conclusion that it was my special day and I had to do it at a time that worked well for me. They'll be there in spirit! Have someone film the ceremony if you don't have a videographer. Best wishes to you!

THANK YOU ALYSSA! You receive a standing ovation from me!!

I understand that we all get caught up in "OUR DAY". Fine. But, also realize that people have their own lives and if they decide not to come to our DW then that is their choice. People and their circumstances are unpredictable. And quite frankly, I am NOT interested in flying with a baby. Been there, done that. It was a 2 hour flight from Seattle to San Francisco and that was one of the longest two hours I have ever experienced in my life! And being pregnant and traveling.. yep, sounds like a blast. Hope that I don't go in to premature labor and get stuck where ever I happen to be. Sounds memorable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
