question - has anyone got a concrete answer on what birth certificate we have to use? do we need a long form or not?  i can't seem to get anywhere on getting an answer to this question.

Yes, its for all of those fees, and the free wedding includes decorations, cake and flowers for me and FI

I picked the free wedding because I was comparing them, and the extra stuff you get do NOT add up to 1100, so it seemed like a rip-off to me.  I want a very simple wedding and we don't have very many guests coming.  And I dont' care if we get late check out, beacuse we're going over to our honeymoon hotel after, and my fam will be staying until after we leave, so if worse comes to worse we'll leave our bags in their room.

I can't think of anything else the paid ones included, so that shows how much I cared abuot it, hahahha.

we are also going with the free package as it seems to work out cheaper for us, we are using Marcia Roberts as our photographer, and hopefully tia flowers, but I emailed them about 2 weeks or so ago for a quote and havent heard back from them. Does anyone know the prices of their flowers? I am wanting cala lilies as my bouquet and a single or 2 lilies for my maids.  We have booked the Dolce Vita (italian) for our dinner, getting married at 3pm on October 18 :) cant wait !!! hope time flies by as much as it has already !!

I was quoted $30 for the transportion to the gazebo on the day of the wedding, i see some ppl were quoted $10 ?

Wow! I cant believe how many brides there are on this thread now..it is amazing! I havent been around all week due to clinical and 12 hour shifts at the Hospital so I had a lot to catch up on!

We are also going with the free package as it made more sense for us since we have our own photographer, im going with Jan's flowers and I already have a lot of stuff I am bringing down. I already have my $400 american cash for the minister etc, and we are doing the gazebo dance etc. I think with flowers, gazebo and our people over 16 it was still cheaper than the $100 package.

I didnt know you needed transportation to the wedding,...I assumed on walking !? lol

I talked to my FI about the first look the other night and he wasnt too keen on it even though I think its a great idea...we will see 76 more days to convince him! lol

Akua - I cant believe you leave in a week, you must be sooo excited! Good luck with everything, I am sure it will be perfect!! :)

The $10 quote was something I had read from another bride on a different thread, it could be inaccurate...maybe last years quote?  I'm sure if the resort figured out that they can make money on it they probably jacked up the price.

We're going with the blissful love pkg, I think it's $1350.  I picked that one because I wanted a little more flashiness.  I also figured out that if you end up having 30 guests the blissful love pkg actually only ends up being $40 more than the sunshine pkg because the sunshine pkg is only for 24 guests, so once you paid for the extra 6 people there was only a $40 difference.  Hope that makes sense  lol!

We're using the resort photographer, and I read other places that you can haggle to get the prices down, so I'm budgeting $500, we don't want many pictures and my dad bought a super fancy camera so he's been playing with it and is pretty excited.

The cake and flowers are included in the free package.  Plus the decorations, its white, good enough for me, not too concerned I'm more excited about the beach background.

We didn't have a choice in restaurant, so we're in the Garden Grill.  I wanted the Italian place, oh well, what can you do.

The hair, I have no idea how much it will cost, I'm budgeting $90 (I'd rather go high then low) and I"m doing my own make-up.  The assistant asked if I wanted a trial, I said no.  I don't see the point, and don't want to waste all that time in the salon, plus I'm going for simple so it shouldn't be too hard.

I want a flower in my hair, so I'm either going to steal FI's bout. or ask for a flower when I sit down with Bev when we get there.

One week to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought you would walk to the gazebo from the hotel too, but apparantly its a very long walk to the gazebo. So Bev will accompany you to the walkway in a golf cart or something like that. I think that ride is free with the bigger packages, but you may have to pay for it if you go with the free package. Im going with the free package. The transportation isnt a big deal to me, I will just figure that out once I get there.

I just got a welcome letter from the hotel, I can't tell you how excited I was!!!  Bev sets the time you meet.   Our wedding is on the 22nd and we're meeting her on the 19th (the day after we get in) at 9:30.  It says that they charge an extra $35 for extra flowers you may need.   I want lily's, so Im going to see how much that will be. There was also a note saying that there would be a menu attached, but there wasn't, and that the meal has been changes to pork ribs, chicken, beef salmon or lamb, so I don't know what that is about. can you call a list of meats a menu? Hahaha

I'm being bridezilla this weekend.  I've made a detailed list and I'm forcing my FI to help me with everything, and I also have to fit in studying for a midterm I have on Thursday, so life is insane right now.  I'm waiting for glue to dry on the wooden fans I'm blinging up with rhinestones, hahaha.

Can't wait to share my pics wiht everyone!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
