Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Congrats on your wedding!! I'm glad you had a great time! We're actually thinking of switching over to the free wedding package. Would you by chance have a list of what's included with it? The $1350 for the wedding package we currently have just seems to have a lot of stuff we're not going to use...

Congrats!!! Thanks so much for your great review!!!   It sounds like you had a blast and I can't wait to see pics!!  What restaurant did you choose for your dinner?  I'm sure I will have more questions tomorrow, thanks! :)

Tris- we switched to the free package too.  When I figured out the price for the number of ppl we have coming and what was included, it made sense to just go with the free package...I really didn't care about a 15% spa discount and upgraded amentities with the blissful love lol.

Awesome! Thanks so much ladies. I just don't see what we're really getting out of the paid package. We have us plus 15 guests and our photographer, so in the end we are 18. So to pay for 2 additional people ($50) isn't a big deal. Add that to the $220 minister fees, it seems so much more reasonable. I dealt with Tai Floral on my own and our bill with them after tax was just under $400, and the steel drum band is $400, so in the end it's going to be $1070 + taxes... I'm wondering if there's anything else we will want to add on when we get there? Hmmm...

Are you planning on adding on chair bows? Or bringing your own?  We are using the free package and the only other things we are going to be paying for are the extra people, we will probably have two or three.  I'm planning on buying chair bows and bringing them with as its cheaper.  You must be getting exicited, your wedding is getting closer!!

Hi Ladies,

I am new to this site...I will be getting married at the GBPJ on November 15, 2011! I have so many unanswered questions about the wedding reception...

My fiance and I got engaged at this resort in March 2010! We have 45 people attending so far. I was thinking of paying the extra money for the reception...I'm not sure why we have to pay extra for alcohol at an all inclusive resort...does anyone have any information on this?

Also, if you pay extra for the chair covers & ties...are these used for both the ceremony and reception? I was also considering the gazebo for the reception...but I'm not sure how cool the evenings are in November??

Sorry...I have soooo many questions...help!!!

Congrats Schayer!!!!!! So glad your review was good. Tris I also had the uprgraded package and have switched to the free package. It made sense to me to save and now I am renting the gazebo and the bartender. I was thinking about buying booze but not sure how much it would cost so them setting up the table with all the alcohol I seen in other brides pics just looks good to me. Still waiting froprices or a catalogue with prices from TaiFlora. I have also boked the Dolce Vita fro my reception so it's all coming along now. i also have booked my trip and got a great rate of 1250 pp with the 11th person free and dividing that moneyup between evryone that has booked. Now today I am starting to walk and eat right so I can lose 15 pounds before going dress shopping in June.

Schayer just one question you said the covers were free in the free package fow how many people 16 like the package offers? How many people did you have?

Tris do you have that price of 220 for the minister fee in a email because the free package says 400.

I knew I forgot something: the dinner. We initially wanted the Dolce vita but it was booked. So we went to the Garden Grill. We selected our menu with Chandlynn. We had the onion soup, Cesar salad. lamb chops and cheese cake (so delicious).

I didn't know about this but they made a  menu with our name, the date and the actual menu. It's a great keepsake. We didn't pick colors for our wedding so all the linen was white. I personally loved it because it was simple. There was no flowers on the table, and for our group it was a good thing; My bouquet, many bottles of wine and many glasses! The table is a bit secluded or at least you get the feeling.

As far as the chairs covers, we were ten so we didn't have to pay. You may have to pay after, but I'm not sure...

Oh yeah, and you also get tacky honeymoon shirts lol.

I don't know if we're even getting chair bows. I'm fine with the white chairs... but I guess we'll see how we feel when we get down there. I considered buying them here and packing them (It's so much cheaper, I agree), but since we're staying 2 weeks I can't justify all that room in my suitcase for sashes! haha.

I emailed Chandlynn about this a week ago and she told me it was "220".

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
