Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica

Thanks Ashley!!

We had the ceremony just off to the right of the gazebo (if your facing it from the hotel). I really wanted to get married on a beach, not in the gazebo and Beverly was super accommodating. And I LOVED the background. In some pictures you can see the waves splashing up against the rocks...it was AMAZING!

Hi Everyone!

My travel agent has been trying for the past week to get in touch with the wedding coordinator at the Bahia to book my ceremony date, but the wedding coordinator hasn't responded to e-mails or messages left at the front desk.  Does anyone have any other suggestions on how I can book my ceremony date?

Hey! I didn't know there were more threads on here for the GBP either!! LOVE that fact that there's pictures on here!!! smile159.gif makes me even more excited!!!

ashley490, I just called down myself and asked to talk to the wedding coordinator and they got her on the phone for me.  Or you could always email her or her assisstant (I find her assistant is faster at responding though!)

this is great! more info!!  I'm trying to get a question answered that the assistant wedding planner hasn't and now I've asked twice. the time we want isn't available on our date. only time is 11am. that's a deal breaker. so I asked if we could go day prior, or day after. we aren't carved in stone for anything yet. website says you must be there 48 hrs before your wedding. has anyone arrived on Sunday and been married on Tuesday???? Our only other option is to wait until Thursday, but then we would have to fly back on Sunday so that cuts down on our "party" time after the wedding. I had so counted on Wednesday, but it doesn't look like it's going to work for us.

  • 2 weeks later...

acw,

Have you decided on the date yet? I would suggest doing the Tuesday. I arrived on a Saturday and got married on Wednesday and there definitely wasnt enough time after the wedding. If I could do it again I would have done it earlier in the week!

Fleetmac,

Thank you!

I didnt have to pay anything for the spray paint!

My bridesmaids were carrying fake gerbera daisys that I had brought down with me.

hey StephAli - yep. we're booked. unfortunately we ended up after all with Thursday. not what we wanted but what we could get. all other days of the week were gone in the space of about 4 days. it's ok. I'm fine with it and we're just working out the other details now. we only have one week in november that we can travel because of other family events so we fly nov 13th and get married on thursday the 17th. yay!!!  looking forward to it. we also booked a photographer in jamaica that I got from here and he sounds great. I'm still thinking about the gazebo for the evening if someone hasn't already taken it. not sure what our first dance options will be if we don't take it. we're going to be a really small group - only about 10 or 12 so not sure about the cost for the gazebo. still waiting for our travel quote too and I think we'll probably be about $1400 for that, which I know will be a problem for some people.

eight and a half months to go!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
