sad.gif No luck? I see that your wedding is still 3 months away...maybe they'll start booking next month! All of my bridal party are booked but FI's 3 guys are not booked. I think that is it for us regarding guests. I don't think any more guests are coming. I know how frustrating it is because you need numbers for your OOT, and other stuff! Maybe you should contact the potential ones (the ones who expressed interest in going) and tell them that the resort is almost sold out. maybe that will push their butts to book! That is what I did. I put in a small note in the invites and stated that the resort is almost sold out and for them to book soon. I also put in "to ensure a dinner plate, please RSVP" something like that. It may be rude but it's for their own good that way they won't be standing around looking like an idiot with no dinner plate!
That's a good idea... I figured I'd call them after I sent out the invites to push people. MOST of my wedding party isn't booked and 2 groomsmen may be dropping out. I still have half my guests that haven't booked yet so I'm overly annoyed by the whole process.

I'm so trying to be patient!

the months are slowly creeping away on my ticker...yikes!!
Those are great! I'm always so impressed when people make those passports! They're so cute & look ridiculously hard to make!

I know how frustrating it is to have people not booking too. We had to send out an email to a bunch of people just before our booking deadline to kick them into gear. Our deadline was Jan 5th & virtually no one had booked so on the 1st I sent out a mass email letting people know when the deadline was & giving them the TA info again. I asked that they please let us know their plans either way & it actually worked! The people who didn't send back their rsvp's either sent back a quick "sorry, but..." email or went ahead & booked. Of course there are still a couple stragglers, but what can you do?

Sometimes it seems like it doesn't matter at all what you do- or when- there are always people who need a bug kick in the butt. One of FI's good friends has hummed and hawed for so long now, that he missed saving $500 with our new tour operator and will now have to pay full price. We even spoke to him in person, and I told him "you need to book tomorrow, or you won't be able to book at all." That was two weeks ago...

Also, our save the dates went out in July with TA info. and our invites were out in October, which had a deadline on when to book (which was extended, but nobody knew that).

We are now pleasantly surprised with 37 guests booked...but it was a pain getting there. It's harder for us, as it is all we think about!

KittenHeart- how many do you have booked now?

Lady Di- Kudos to you for your DIY! I can't see the pics from work, but I know they must have been tough....which is why I didn't do them myself :)

It just stuns me that I got all the people who are currently book to book 1 YEAR ago! The remaining guests I will be lucky if I get them booked by March. I have 20 people booked, 31 RSVP'd left to book.

I only have one groomsman booked, BM and 4 other groomsmen not booked, 3 bridesmaids booked, MOH and 2 more bridesmaids not booked.

KittenHeart, i guess we all know by now that most of people are procrastinators! I hope you have better luck next month!
I just had my invites done by Ana DeRoux (AnaGarcia) and they are amazing! She and I worked for months together and they are perfect, I love them so much. I am about to send them out and I will post a thread on them to show you all :)

Yes, that is very true!!! Thank you :)

I only contacted someone local to me at the time b/c we had to get them out in a hurry. Our invites went out in October already 'cause the deadline (original deadline) for our group rates was in November.
I did, however, find a lady locally that does DIY kits, and they turned out awesome even though they aren't the passport style.

Almost too bad there won't be a next time... :)

Hi May Brides! I am not new to this forum but I have never posted on this thread so I thought I would say hello to my fellow May Brides! My FI and I are getting married at the El Dorado Royale May 7, 2010 and I sent out Save the Dates back in October with a letter stating that everyone had to be booked by November 30th or we would lose our group rate (it wasnt actually true, I just told them that) and I now have 34 people booked!! I really do think you have to bug them but be nice about it!! Anyway, I hope you guys are having a good week and good luck with your guests!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
