How have you completed your transaction?

Paypal protects both the buyer and seller however if you are the seller it's a bit different -- you are NOT protected unless the package was sent with delivery conf + insurance.

If the buyer makes a claim and says they never received the package then paypal will take the money and refund the buyer. .unless you have paid for delivery conf/insurance and have shipping proof (receipts).

I'm not saying anyone here would pull any funny stuff and for small ticket items it may not be worth it but protect yourself on more expensive items, because there are no posting requirements to come in here and buy or sell ... anyone can come in and who knows.... you don't want to be out the item you sold + the money as well.. double whammy sad.gif

I've also just used paypal when buying from forum girls and have had no problems. Just thought I'd mention though as a buyer if you pay with your credit card through paypal you aren't protected. They only protect cash purchases. I found that out when I was going to pay for my wedding dress and use the credit card instead of my bank account. I was glad I saw that so I didn't use the credit card and had full protection.

that's not true.. paypal has full protection with a credit card. AND the best thing about paying with a credit card is if for some reason paypal fails you, you can do a chargeback on your credit card. Whenever I buy a bigger ticket item, I ALWAYS use a credit card for this double protection.

Yes the seller pays a bit more in fees but hey, that's the cost of doing business I suppose?

I must have got bad info then. I was really worried buying my dress so I looked into it to make sure I was protected no matter what. Thanks for correcting me :)

^^ unfortunately I wish I had taken my own advice.. i purchased from a seller here and used my debit card instead of a credit card and now the seller is a scammer and I'm likely out the money unless paypal can recover it. It's not a huge amount but it burns my cookies nonetheless

I haven't bought or sold anything through the forum yet (though I AM desperately trying to sell a dress) but I wouldn't do it any other way than Paypal. Even if they take a little bit of money from you it's totally worth it to have that neutral party in the middle just in case something goes wrong. It would certainly give me, as a seller AND buyer, peace of mind. Besides, it's the fastest way - no waiting on checks in the mail. As a seller I can get my money faster and as a buyer I can get my product faster...it's a win-win situation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
