Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

I have a recent email from Ana saying that the fee is $55. I asked if I could bring in Fernando Fuentes for hair and makeup and while she said I could, she really tried to push the spa on me.  I thought that vendors had to be on the DRC approved vendors list, which is why we canâ€t pick our own djs or use those decorating companies anymore?

Hey ladies.  For those of you who are starting to plan your weddings,  the resort has a list of approved vendors that they recently updated.  I am getting married on October 28 and they only have two approved Djs.  One is their resort DJ and the other  is visual sound, I think.  Unfortunately they both charge the same prices because that what the resort requires them to do.  In the beginning they allowed some outside vendors but they were cut off.  I'm not sure what things will be like for next year but as far as a photographer, the way to get by with that is by paying for them as guests to your wedding.  I have been limited to use their DJ and their photographer.  I am a little worried about the DJ as they have been mixed reviews  but seems to be getting better and their photographer, well I have requested Anel.  She seems to be awesome at what she does.  Good luck and happy planning.

Kad,

You should consider the spa.  I saw it in person and it's AMAZING!  I cannot wait to spend my wedding morning there wit my bridesmaids doing hair, make up, massages, enjoying the outdoor areas.  It's gorgeous!

Do you have a list of prices for the spa?? I was torn between paying for them to get their hair done and makeup instead of buying their dresses. Wanted to see what the price difference would be.

I have the same problem. I want to pay for the girls' hair & makeup since they are paying to come to my wedding and their dresses, I feel like it's the least I can do. But Fernando quoted me about $150 per girl and I have 5, plus our moms and myself. So I would love to see the spa prices. I know a lot of the brides on here have been very happy with the spa so I am still debating.

I priced someone coming in and the spa and realized they were about the same price, given I'd have to pay for a day pass.  I believe it came to $172 a girl for hair and make up.  Our BM dresses were $205, so I'm doing the hair and make up.  I just checked in past emails and I can't find where I found those prices.  I just wanted to pay for my bridesmaids spa day anyway so that's why I did that I guess.  If I find the price list, I will let you know!

Hi there!
We are arriving on Wednesday, April 18 and staying through Saturday, April 28th.

My travel agent is working with the resort, so I have not had contact directly with anyone from the resort yet.

We currently booked the Gazebo for our ceremony. Because we are having a big reception back home, we are not going all out with a cocktail hour or reception.
We are not expecing many people (maybe 20ish) so we figure we will just hang out at one of the bars after the ceremony and then just dinner afterward at one of the resturants.

I look forward to planning with you!

What do you have completed so far? What are your arrangements?

Were trying to keep it low key. were not adding on anything to the package. Were doing the Dreams of Love and having Anel one of the resort photographers do our pics. Well i take that back i may add some lighting. Im not sure yet, maybe we will see a wedding fri night or sat, i want to spy and see if i need to add it lol

ladies, I have been in contact with the the fireworks company that dimplesandsuga was talking about and was kind of enough of email some of us with the PDF.  The least expensive one is $410.00 for 10 seconds of display.  I also inquired about a wedding package but she told me that what ever is listed on their price list is what they offer.  So i told her no thank you.  $410 for 10 seconds? Is she kidding me..... good luck to those who do hire this company, I will enjoy your pictures. lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
