  1. We tipped at the end. Although my planner left after the ceremony and turned it over to the banquet manager so I think we tipped her before she left.
  2. Congrats!! Saturday is my 1 year anniversary from my wedding at Dreams! You will love it. We used a credit card but be aware it will show up in pesos on your statement. They will give you a final price list and you can negotiate if you need to. Best of luck!! Congrats!!!!
  3. It really was amazing. Nothing went wrong the entire trip. Everyone still talks about how incredible it was. We wouldn't have done it any other way and I can't believe it's been almost a year. I still watch that video like every day. haha. Thanks!
  4. Hi! Here is a link to our video at Dreams Riviera. The woman in the voice over is the minister. This was a symbolic ceremony only but I believe she can also do legal.
  5. I'm really sorry to hear that!! We had such a great time there almost a year before you. I know many brides have probably reassured you that it will be fine once you get there, you can dispute charges and usually they try to compensate. I suggest calling the resort. It's a pricy call but worth it because someone always answers the phone. Try not to worry! Once you are there you feel like royalty!
  6. Have a fabulous time, fellow NJ bride!!! You will love every second of it! Congratulations!
  7. Love this video, Mike! But I like ours better. I guess I am biased. Kevin and I still watch it nearly every day!
  8. I had three camera men. I think he used the same style camera but it is the editing quality. The "shaking" in the beginning of the video is an editing technique called a time lapse where they shoot an area for hours to see how the weather changes and then speed it up. I would just make sure you are very specific about what you want with them. I think I was sort of annoying with them but I got exactly what I wanted.
  9. What do you mean shaky? Mine isn't shaky. Mine is the second link. The first link was the other bride from my day. He also has Cancun Wedding Video and Mike Cantarell Films. The latter is wedding cinematography while the first is just videography. I am not sure what you mean.
  10. Emily, here is hers with just one videographer: and here is ours: I wonder if he used a different type of camera on hers, it looks different. I know she booked him very last minute when she found out I had. We communicated on Facebook and she asked for help so I am wondering if it'a an availability thing.
  11. Oh what a bummer! I wonder if that was a 2013 change? My video was broken up in a similar way. I had Mike and two other guys though. The other bride that day had just one guy. Her highlight is on his vimeo, I think. Maybe because he was on his own? I am sorry to hear you werent entirely satisfied!
  12. We did that too...at the court house with just our parents and went out to eat after. We also didn't exchange rings until Mexico, so it still felt like Mexico was our wedding.
  13. I have heard terrible things about the legal ceremony. You have to have blood tests, documentation translated, and then it takes like 6 months on top to get your marriage license and it comes in spanish, not English. I would think very carefully before you decide to do that.
  14. Make sure you post your highlight video when you get it!! It took Mike like a month to send me mine! I was so impatient and didn't have it for my at home reception which was such a bummer... but it was awesome so it worked out! He also sent me a blue ray and 3 dvds and the external hard drive with the footage, which I still have yet to get working on my Mac. But it is very awesome to have!
  15. Emily, All you have to do is tell them the name of the song. You don't need to send them the file.
  16. We were only allowed to use the spa for our honeymoon services! The girls on the day of the wedding all hung out while we all got made up but they could not use the spa. We had the presidential suite though so we just hung out in there. It would've been nice if we could've gone early the morning of and relaxed there first though!
  17. I did think I had enough photos. It was hard to choose but I know if I had more I wouldn't look at them all the time and when I did it would take forever. Now I just look at my album from time to time and enjoy the memories but it didn't seem necessary to pay for all the photos. Plus they want a ridiculous amount for them! I was very satisfied with our decisions regarding photography!
  18. Emily, They don't do prints unless you purchase them separately. They are ala carte. The 180 you are to pick are to go on a CD that they send you. If you want prints you have to get them done separately from the disc they send you. They do canvas there and the photo book which is like a shutterfly book.
  19. If that's true it's new. I got married in July and we did 3, and you can see my slideshow above. I hope they didn't change it, that doesn't seem fair!
  20. I didn't take pictures before the ceremony but she got a lot of pictures! We did miss almost all of the cocktail hour though. Here is our slideshow: http://200712mcmahon.dreamsriveriacancun.adventurephotos.com.mx/ We used Anel and loved her! PS - we're from NJ too!! Where about?
  21. I'm surprised?! I love ours! They go in chronological order and I like the durability of the book!
