Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

We were able to reserve our date very easily and quickly, though we reserved well in advance (about 18 months actually haha). We've also got more than 35 people coming and are renting a private space (the pool deck). So far its looking like it will cost us an extra 60/person. I have requested that we don't have a cocktail hour and use the including cost for that towards extra meals. Right now we have the included package and will decide on upgrading once were closer to the wedding.

Don't stress too much... i know its easy to get overwhelmed but they really seem to know what they are doing.. they just do it all last minute.

I met with my TA last night and she is contacting the resort to nail down a date now.  It will be sometime in the beginning of June!  So excited!

As we staryed talking about the room block and wedding packages, I came up with some questions I hadn't thought of before.

Does anyone have ober 35 people, and have to rent a private space?  What is that cost like?  Is it really @ $75 more per person after the initial 20 people included in the packages?  Can you trade out any of the ammenities for extra people or anything?  Does anyone know if the beach set up (the huppa thing) comes with the package?

I'm kinda concerned that the price looks good and all inclusive for the wedding package, but really it's going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I actually don't even know what to budget out--but I'm trying to be cost conscious about the whole thing...

What's been some of your experiences on the upgrades and the wedding packages?

Thanks for your help--little overwhelmed today!

Katie

Hi.  I kept communicating to Ana at the time to make sure she booked our date with them but also requested the email address and I emailed them myself.  They had my reservation and I then requested Anel for both shoots.  She was awesome in responding very quickly.

Thanks Ssapper--

So, you mean it's $60 per person for anyone over the 20 that are included?  That's not bad.  Did you also have to pay extra for the space (the pool deck)?

I was thinking the same thing about the cocktail hour--maybe they can just takje it off and apply the cost elsewhere....

I appreciate your help!

Anel's email is:

[email protected]

I made sue to request Anel..ever sense she has been contacting me directly.  She has been AMAZING to work with!!  I wasn't sure which package to select (we have the Dreams of Love Wedding Package - I knew I'd want her longer than that)..we aren't doing a Rehearsal Dinner or a TTD Session, so she suggested what package would be best.  She also had us change our Ceremony time from 4:30 to 4:00 due to lighting..our wedding is January 24th 2012..

I can't say enough about her..she is amazing and quick to respond!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
