Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Okay ladies...first of all - No one freak out...

I got an email from Ana yesterday, this is her last week as the wedding coordinator at Dreams. Going forward it will be Gabriela and Yazmin.  The email address for Gabriela is the same one we all used for Ana and Yazmin's is obviously not changing either.

Gabriela and Ana have clearly been communicating about everyones files - but it might be a good idea to make sure you've kept all your email communications from Ana and bring them down to Mexico with you.

I can't comment on the difference between the ceremonies themselves but I have heard of at least a few brides who have had MAJOR problems getting their documents in order after doing a legal ceremony. There have been comments on the FB fan page from girls that have gotten married like 6 months ago and are still waiting for their marriage certificates...

So, I was already thinking about getting married at home first and then just doing a symbolic ceremony at the resort, mainly to save cost and hassle, but hearing these horror stories from past brides has made me decide for sure not to do the legal stuff down there!

Oh gosh, this is either going to be a nightmare... or maybe I will actually get a response from them with less than a 2 month wait! Geez, that would be nice!!!

I think it'll be better! I really do, Gabriela and Yazmin seem really on top of it and everything is going to be just fine :)

But I just wanted to let you know because I didn't know how many people she was emailing before she left...and it could be confusing to just start getting emails from Gabriela...

Oh my.... I feel like im banging my head against a brick wall.

For those who havent seen me post before - I requested the pool deck 5 months ago, waited for 3 months for Ana to reply and say the pool deck was taken on my day. Only the pool terrace or the beach was avaliable. I was fairly miffed as I waited 3 months effectively for "no"

I emailed back the next day and said Ok, pool terrace please. 2 months + on, still no reply.

Yesterday I got my TA to email low and behold I recieve the reply to all 3 of my questions today only to find that in one email Gabriella replies and says the POOL DECK IS FREE?! but she changes my request to the pool terrace from my last email which was a chaser saying please can you confirm the terrace?... BECAUSE THE DECK WAS TAKEN!!!

Head... brick wall... BANG BANG!!!!

I recieved an email this morning from Gabriela stating that she is the new wedding manager.  I also, emailed Ivan from Doremixx because months ago I had requested him as my DJ via Ana.  Ivan responded that he has not heard anything from Ana.  2 months until my wedding and I am just starting to get nervous.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
