And i must say she was great

Hey! I have been so busy since the wedding in July, I havent been able to complete a review. However- I did want to give you the highlights of what I will write. First- love love love the resort. It was beautiful and I miss it every day! We booked the Honeymoon Suite but were upgraded to the Master Suite once we got there. As far as the restaurants and bars go, the service was perfect. Ana was great- although she didn't have to do much since we only had the ceremony down there, not a reception. I was concerned about not understanding the minister guy, but we went to talk to Ana and I was able to speak to him on the phone. He was awesome- I didnt know whether or not I was supposed to tip him so I feel guilty for not because he was really really good. OH, I went to the spa to get my hair done (with my bridesmaids and mothers). I brought a picture even. I absolutely hated my hair. and of course I am not the type to complain so I just dealt with it. If i could go back, I wouldn't get my hair done by them at all- or I would at least try to get up the guts to say something. As for the ceremony spot- we chose the beach and at first i was worried about the seaweed. Honestly, looking at my pictures, I liked the look of the seaweed on the beach. Weird, I know. Anyway, I am going to work on getting my pictures loaded onto shutterfly so I can share them- our photographers flew down with us (they are family friends so we made a deal). If anyone has a question for me you can email me at [email protected]. I know more questions come from the reception planning, but I'm just gonna put my email out there because I don't check the BDW website anymore:( Here's a few of our pics for now....

Hi Cathy!

That was a really awesome review. Super helpful in so many ways!

I have a couple questions if you have a sec to answer them--

--Did you do a symbolic ceremony or civil? You said you sent a script early to the officiant, which I hoped we could do. Too bad she did not rehearse but at least she said what you wanted, which is cool.

--was your sand ceremony container provided by the resort or did you guys bring all that yourselves? It is really cool looking!

--For the reception--why did the music have to stop at 1030pm? Just curious if this is when everything has to stop typically or if you chose that amount of time. We are getting married at 6pm and hoped we would do a buffet and be done eating at around 830-9pm so we could party until like 11pm-12am at least. We might have to come up with a plan b if we can't rent the equipment later than 1030pm.

--was there any kind of rehearsal time for everyone before the ceremony? Like a night before rehearsal with dinner or even just a day rehearsal or something the day of? Just curious.

I really appreciate your help and I wish you the best. I am happy to see how awesome your day was. Congrats!

Sincerely,

Leanne

I didn't use the wine cellar but we had ours in El Patio.  We set it up with the El Patio manager when we got there and it was completely free!  We had 28 people :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
