Hang in there, jerseykitten!! Like everyone has said in here, those who are attending are the REALLY important people. And I love what goNDmay09 said!! Look on the bright side! Saving money on an abroad wedding is definitely some good news!! :)

Keep venting when you need to Jersey! You definitely have some listeners!!

That's very frustrating to have people say they will come and then back out. Keep remembering that it is most important that you and your FI are getting married, you two being there is the most important. You will have the people who really truly care about you at your wedding and that is the most important.

I'm also sorry to hear you are going through such a hard time.

We originally weren't going to invite anyone, but we had sooo many people say they wanted to be there. After we sent out the invites, we found out that most of our friends and none of our families will not be coming, including my sister?

But my best friend and a friend of my FI's is coming.

It really hurts, especially when we thought no one would come initially, then they say they will be there and then after inviting they back out. We would do anything for our families and friends, doesn't feel like the feelings are returned.

Thank goodness for my fiance, he keeps telling me it really only matters that we're there...8 )

It really is true, that if people REALLY want to be there that they will make a point of making it happen.

Keep your chin up, and your eye on the prize...your man and your day!

I am so sorry that you have to deal with all of this! As if planning a DW isn't hard enough. Just remember, people change their minds. I had a similar problem about a two months ago. My Future MIL and her husband decided that they weren't coming to our wedding because they needed a new flat screen TV! I was totally shocked and my FH was so dissapointed. Since then, they have decided to go and booked their flights and hotel along with 5 other guests that said they weren't coming. So, maybe they'll have a change of heart. One thing I would do is call your travel agent. She sounds like she's dropping the ball on things a little. I hope that everything works out for you and just remember that your wedding is about YOU and your FH, not anybody else. smile03.gif

omg! jerseykitten keep us posted. just reading these posts is stressing me out. just try to remember that at the end of the day - you will be his wife - and really that is the end goal. i have heard the day flies so fast anyway. and like i said before - if we are going to be spending money and all worried about our guests, i would prefer it be for the people that would come no matter what.

to everyone else "up your butt and around the corner!"

now - please feel free to resend me this when i am all in the depths of despair about my guests not coming.

keep that chin up!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
