Are any of your guests waiting to the last minute to book? Lol all my guest must be cheap or just want to wait for the last minute well to get a deal whcih is sort of cheap. I see some ladies have 29booked and counting on their page etc. We never really gave our guest much notice anyways as we don't really care if we are the only ones there, but come one not even our family has booked?? Am I misssing something here??

We ended up doing a "group booking" so our guests were placed under strict time constraints. S&M.gif

However, some of them DID discuss waiting until last minute-- but quickly realized that the possibility of missing-out was too great, so they ended up booking through or pre-arranged group package. I'm not too certain if this is the case for most of the B2Bs and their Guest Counts. I wouldn't fret, though. I'm sure your guests will do what they need to be there for you on your big day. :)

Yes, majority of my family & friends are all waiting to see if the prices drop before booking and they all had 12mths notice.

To be honest I did not want the stress of a big group booking and having to be responsible for chasing desposits and payments, although I did give people this option.

For at least 2 months after booking our wedding package and having the date and time confimed, I also researched prices and emailed and telephoned to let people know of better deals and 4 peope did then book. However prices then shot up again by quite alot and so the majority are just waiting to see if they come back down.

Heather, you are definitely not alone. Our wedding is in December and we finally received two RSVP "Yes" few days ago. Since we are not going the all-inclusive route, our guests are free to stay anywhere they want and there is no time constraints in terms of booking. We have set September 18th as the RSVP deadline and hopefully we will be getting more replies.

Glad we didn't bother doing RSVP through mail. Otherwise it will be a total waste of money and effort. I don't understand why it is so difficult for guests to RSVP online!

We haven't nailed down a group rate yet for that reason...a lot of guests are saying the price we are getting quoted is too high...I think we are going to give it a few more weeks than just book it and whoever books with us does, and if they don't and the price goes up or there isn't room than that's too bad for them. The ones who truly want to be there will be there for you. I imagine most DW brides go through this.

yes, I am going through the same thing right now. We have sent out about 200 save the dates back in April for our June wedding. We are getting several verbal confirmations, but only 2 people have booked. Neither of our parents have booked, close friends, etc. But then again, our wedding is more than 9 mos. away so Im sure that our guest like yours are waiting to the last minute

We've had our group rate booked for more than a month now, and we only have two people booked so far. Then again like Royal lady says, the wedding is still quite a ways off. I don't really much care who comes either, less people to worry about when we're in Jamaica.

We're going through the same thing! We thought we had about 45 people who were FOR SURE coming. But when we sent out the information for the group booking, (a pretty good rate too), and many people say they want to try to get a last minute booking or just can't afford it right now, etc... although I think these people will end up paying whatever price they find at the last minute just because they really want to come.

Hang in there, hopefully more people will book soon! November is not that far away!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
