Hi Ladies!

I am also getting married at the Royal Cancun on 08.10.12!!! I chose the beach at the Royal and the terrace at caribe for the reception.

Im struggling with the following if any of you have any insight!

Is the terrace private?

Do we NEED a DJ if we have the Mexican Trio for an hour?

Are you using a travel agent for your guests? If not, how are you having your guests book?

Which type of room do you recommend?

Thanks!!! Happy planning! Let me know if you have any questions as well.

Stefanie

Hi!! I know that one of the terraces are more private than the other, there are 2. I used a travel agent because they are experts that hopefully have been there... And most of them don't charge extra and will match any other price you find. I have heard sooooo many great things about the Royal, one being... You can't get a bad room. Being the bride and groom you should be getting a upgrade at check in so keep that in mind as well! You can have your Trio play for your cocktail hour and play a play list from your iPod for the rest of the night...

Hi!

Thanks for you input!!!

Which travel agency did you use?

I've heard so many great things too, I'm SO excited. Are you getting married there in February?

Brilliant idea about the trio. I think I will do that! I want a DJ but I have to see if it's in the budget. If not, an ipod would work too. :)

LaBebita911,

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I am in the same boat as you, and don't really have much DEFINATELY planned other than my date (june 23,2012).  It's tough trying to buy things when you don't have a headcount of people coming. I am experiencing the same frustrations. I have to wait to get my invites out and RSVPs back. I don't even know how many people to expect!!! People can be very flighty, but I am hoping some of my friends will suprise me and come down to MX.

What do you think is a minimum amount of people to have a private reception? I am hoping to have at least 20, but a max of 40-50 (unlikely). I don't want it to fee huge, and empty in the reception.

I feel your frustration!

Hey SparksFly,

WWhose your WC??, The minumin for a private is 20 people, so I will be paying for 20 wether 20 go or not cuz my dream is to have a beach reception . Im hoping that 20 will go but with just immediate family it is about 15 people, i have invited about 40 people, but might invite some more since i have received ddef no from some inviteed.

I just feel soo frustrated because i dont hear anyone talking about booking there trip !!!!! i dont want to be in people's face about it.. cuz i understand that a lot are waiting for tax returns but give me an answer of wether ur going to try or you cant go. some have had the courtesy to tell me they cannot attend because of $$ or other reaons. Im anxious since i put an RSVP date of Jan 1st thought i highly doubt anyone pad attention!!!, how should i go about this??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
