Congrats! I am getting married there April 2, 2011. I am having the same issues. My first wedding coordinator told me the "price" for each room but I now have a new coordinator and she is saying they do not block rooms and the rate that my previous coordinator gave me is subject to change at any time. :( Not a happy camper!

OMG AndreaBrazil I just realized we're wedding twins!! we're also getting married at the Royal on April 2nd 2011 AND we've also booked La Luna Photography!!!

We're having a catholic ceremony at 4:00 p.m. on the Gran Caribe's chapel and afterwards a reception on the beach in the Royal's side. (BTW I just double checked with my wedding coordinator (Andrea) and there's room for both weddings :) so no problem there).

Good luck with everything!!!

Hello,

I got married at the Royal Cancun in August and everything was SPECTACULAR! (phew!!) we got married in the chapel and had our reception in one of the ballrooms at the Royal. I haven't posted a review yet, but will do so in the next week or so. If you have any questions, please PM me and I'll be happy to help!

In short, the ceremony was beautiful,  the service was excellent. The food was served hot, the cake was delicious, and I was impressed. I had my nails, hair, and make up done by Mariana at SpAzul and she was phenomenal...I could not have imagined a better person to help me with the "beauty" stuff on my wedding day.

I will write more later on, but I want to assure you that everything went well!

Congrats to you and I am guessing we will prob see each others receptions on the beach! Hope everything turns out well for you. We will be staying at the Royal Thurs-Tues. Good luck with everything as well!

Jaclyn, I am very unhappy with the menu as well. I chose two options but I didnt like the fact that you couldnt mix-match each entree with garnish, soup, dessert etc...The only reason I decided to just deal with it is because I have never read a bad review about any of their food. I am hoping it all is as good as everyone says. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
