Ugh, how frustrating is this - you look AMAZING in both!!! Seriously, stunning. Could you wear one for the ceremony and on for the reception?! Or are you doing a trash the dress session? You could use one of them for that.

Otherwise, if I had to absolutely choose between the two, it'd be the second one, but just barely. I love both of them on you! I agree with what someone said before (sorry, I really forget who said it) that you actually look happier in the second one, you've got a big smile on your face!! It is more of a beach dress, and it's just got that sexy, sultry look to it!

How do you feel about them?

That's a tough choice! #1 is definitely a more classic and traditional dress that you look great it. However #2 is more beachy and you look gorgeous in it as well. I think they are both beautiful. How did you end up having two dresses? I haven't even started to look at dresses until I lose 10lbs but i am scared at being torn like you. You could do what some celebs do and have a ceremony dress(#1) and then a reception dress(#2). I don;t think there is a right or wring choice. It comes down to what you like the most.

Good Luck!!

OMG! Thanks for the awesome response, gals!!!

Here's the tally:

1) Classic A-line Satin: 4 votes

2) Chiffon destination dress: overwhelming 22 votes

A couple of you asked who the designer was for #2 dress--I don't know! :-) It was a dress I ordered on eBay last fall for $140 USD, right from some factory in China. Based on their measurements, I ordered a size 6, and when it arrived it was too big. I'll have my mom alter it.

I'm planning to wear my hair either down or half up, with a small white flower. No veil.

So how did I end up with two dresses...heh, heh, heh. My fiance and I, we later found out, that we didn't meet the three-day residency requirement in order to get legally married in Mexico (RIU Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen). Apparently, they don't count the day you arrive! So anyways, for us to fly in a day earlier, it was going to cost an additional $1000+ for flight change and an extra night in accommodations.

Instead of speading that money for one night, we decided to spend it on Las Vegas for 4 nights.

So that means we will have TWO weddings: one 'legal-private' one in Las Vegas (fiance and I, no bridal or wedding party, no reception) and one 'public-symbolic' one in Mexico. We couldn't change the Mexico one because the other dates were not available AND our families have already booked their trips.

DECISION: I'm going to wear #1) for Las Vegas and #2) for Mexico.

:-)

Thank you SO much for your opinions!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
