Post Groom and GM attire

Thanks ladies for the heads up on the old navy linen pants. I just scrambled and got all of the groomsmens sizes so that I could order while they are still 15.99 a pair. Even got the FI an extra pair in a smaller size since we're both trying to size down before April! ;) There are still lots of sizes in beige (flax) and in black. Now we just have to find the shirts!! Doesn't it feel good to Ross these things off the list?? I'm sooo type A. Lol

FI just tried his linen pants on from Old Navy...he likes them a lot.  We bought the gray drawstring style and the black and flax button-ups.  He'll wear a pair for the TTD session and the others to the a la cartes I'm thinking, as we already bought him the Tommy Bahama linen pants from the Bay for the wedding.

They are FANTASTIC!!!!! A variety of waist AND length sizes which was awesome as we have a VERY tall groomsmen and a shorter groomsmen... no alterations needed!!!!!! We bought the flat front ones as I was not loving the flap pockets on the drawstring ones but either are a great look!!!

I actually ordered linen shirts online from old navy too, they were only $11.50 or something and they are also really nice.  We had already got mexx shirts... a little more formal, for the guys but I wasn't sure.  FI tried both on today and we opted for the mexx shirts but FI wants to keep an old navy one for himself!!!!!! Definitely check them out!!

Also a tip, to get free shipping you have to spend $50 or more... BUT you can return almost everything IN STORE.  So order $50 worth and return the other stuff to get the free shipping!!!!! We ordered the pants and the shirts... though I was unsure about the shirts I knew I could get a full refund so no biggie!!!!!

We picked up FIs suit this weekend too while we were visiting my parents in Mississauga.  A bride had mentioned awhile back visiting International Clothiers (she was as shocked as we were).  We got his suit for $99 and it is great!!!! Went to le chateau to check out theirs and they would have been over $200.... I cant figure out where everyone is getting the $30 ones!!!! Anyways FI was going to try it on anyways just to see and they dont even make a jacket in his size!!!!!! He is not a huge guy by any means.... the le chateau suits are cut small so he needed a 42 or maybe a 44 jacket and they only go up to the size below... this was really disappointing and I was so surprised!

So, for any ladies looking for suits for their hunny know that le chateau is not well suited for the "broader" gentlemen! LOL

Here is a picture of FI in the Groomsmen outfits so everyone can see!!!!

(Dont ask what he is doing with his neck!)

Shirts - Winners, they are navy blue linen Mexx shirts.  They have a "tuxedo "esc" shirt front, I wasn't sure how this would look but I like the more "formal - casual" vibe it gives!

Pants - Old Navy flat front pants

Everything looks great Tori! Thanks for checking those pants out for me, and thanks to the rest of you ladies for giving the the Old Navy pants the thumbs up too! I signed for their mailing list and got a $10 credit, so these pants are actually only costing $5.99. Can't be that! My FI and I had a nightmare shopping trip today... Why are boys the worst shoppers ever!? He doesn't want to buy anything new for our trip and it's driving me crazy! He wouldn't try on any of the pants that I got for him because he says he has enough khakis. I'm just going to buy these and he will have to suck it up. LOL!

Ooh I never even thought of checking Old Navy, I've been there a million times and have never bought anything but tank tops there! That is a great idea about the TTD, instead of getting the wedding ones icky (if he would want to wear them again).

I'll have to go check it out! Maybe pick a pair up in another colour for the a la cartes as someone else suggested.  Yay this page!

I still really like the Le Chateau ones on him, he has a slimmer build though, so that is likely why they worked so well.

Just a heads up...any time I've used a credit or promotional code at Old Navy, they use some magical formula to spread the discount over ALL of the items in your cart, and don't just take it off at the end.  What that means is, when you return some of the items, you forfeit the discount that they applied to those items.

We were going for a 1920's Harlem Renaissance feel with the guys' look. Here's a breakdown of the attire:

  • My DH's outfit: Jacket by Jones New York at Men's Warehouse. Pants from Burlington Coat Factory. Shoes by Armani. His outfit totaled $165 (shoes not included as they were a gift from me). The hat he borrowed from his best man. His jacket was actually a light plaid as it had tan and blue lines to play into our wedding colors: turquoise and blue (see below).
  • Grooms Men's outfits: Kohl's (pants by Ralph Lauren's Polo collection), JC Penny's (ties), and Burlington Coat Factory (suspenders, ties [Donald Trump Collection] and shirts). Their caps are by Kangol and we got it from a store in Newark that my DH talked the owner down to $15/each (they're worth $40+). Their entire outfits were $60/each. Their shoes were a gift from my MIL.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
