Recommended Posts

don't you fret... I photographed a wedding just two weeks ago in the virgin islands and there were only 12 people there including me. :) that wedding was a blast. i love intimate weddings. it just means you get that much more time to spend with those that come

Don't worry... 5 months is still a lot of time ! 5 months before my wedding, I only had my parents, and my brother and his family booked. I had to wait until 4 months before to get the 3 next persons, and the last person to book did it... 2 weeks before... DH's parents only booked 1 month before !! And the bulk of my guests booked in March (my wedding was May 2nd).

So... no stress here...

My wedding date is 7 days after yours and I am dealing with the same thing. The only difference is that I have been engaged for 2 years in August and booked last July so people would have plenty of time to make monthly payments. My FI's mom keeps saying that she is going, but she hasn't even put down the deposit. We only have 4 people booked so far. My 2 MOH's and BM haven't even booked yet. I know they will, but it can be frustrating. I looked at FI and told him, I don't care who goes as long as we are there together.

I was just going to post about the same thing. The thing for us is we have 25 people booked (mostly my family, firedns and co-workers.) FI's parents booked and that's it! His brother is supposed to be our BM, Haven't heard from him. I tried e-mailing twice to get his measurements for the linen pants we are purchasing for him (NOTHING). It's very frustrating, we sent out our invites with RSVP of June 1st and no one on FI's side has responed (It's May 23rd). So some people will procrastinate, I am not going to worry though because all in all MOST of the people saying they are coming ARE. :)

Hi,

Glad I am not the only one, 4 booked so far out of mixture of friend & family who all said that they wanted to join us. I fully understand that for some people it is the cost. We had planned to get married in September 2009 but then we had family asking us to put it back due to another wedding they were attending.

Anyway, I have decided that it is our day and if people can join us that's great but if not, I am not going to let it upset me.

Most people tend to be procrastinators when it comes to RSVP for parties/weddings. There is still time and I know it may come across as "rude" when guests make other plans around the same time your wedding takes place. Enjoy the friends/family that are there for you on your big day. My approach with destination wedding is "can't make people come but we make sure those who attend have a good time".

I know it totally sucks when ppl commit and say they are coming and dont follow thru. Keep in mind that they may be last minute bookers in hopes that prices will go down. I know this is the reason some of our guests waited till the last minue and it drove me CRAZY, espciall b/c one of the ppl is my MOH.

Good luck with everythign

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
