Color Scheme - Punta Cana Wedding (HELP!)

Recommended Posts

Ok so I don't know what colors to do. I can't make up my mind lol. I'm having a destination wedding and wanted to go the bright tropical colors route at first. But then again everyone pretty much has the same colors at a destination wedding. Not that it matters... but I'm a little "different". As in I don't like typical things. But then again maybe the color scheme I like is too odd? I don't know I really need some opinions.

Turquoise Blue/Pool Blue:

Plum Purple:

Light grey/silver:

Any suggestions? I would like to keep the blue and grey, but maybe some other color instead of purple? Or should I keep it?

Thanks ladies!hug2.gif

Ashley you can do sooo much with all the colors that are available. If you want to pick those colors stick with them!! Go to the knot.com too, they have all kinds of different colors together. The only thing I would say about the silver is maybe make it so that it is brighter and not a dark silver (the links wouldn't work for me). My colors are teal and dark pink, my monogram shows them off really well. But you can incorporate yellow, or the plum purple color, or a cool orange color, kiwi green. There are just tons of options. I would say make a color board (find pics bouquets, table settings, dresses, etc. of colors you like) and just start building off ideas. You will find the colors that make you happy I promise!

Hmmm, I'm also trying to figure out what colors I want. Do you know what color flowers you will have at your wedding? Try to pick colors that flatter your flowers. I was thinking of doing a sage or lime green color and white. I was also thinking of throwing in one more color such as black, brown or gold. It's simple, elegant and goes with any type of decoration that the resort might have. Here are some other combos that I've considered-

Red, Orange, Green for flowers and Brown for bridesmaid dresses and other cloth decor

Wedding Bouquet (Fall Colors) | Royalty Free Stock Photo Image | iStockphoto.com (example of flowers I want)

Blue and Brown decor with white flowers and plenty of candles

Or like I mentioned before.

Green decor and white flowers with plenty of candles

I'm starting to love the idea of plum purple and gold though. It would really fit with the fall weather. Maybe through in some red?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
