Any Futbol (Soccer, Football) Fans?

So I'm a huge futbol (Soccer, Football.. whatever you call it) fan and decided to take the day off from work, due to the Champions league game and so I can catch up on my DYI projects for the wedding.

 

Boi I'm glad that I decided to stay home! The Chelsea vs. Barcelona game was absolutely awesome (at the end ) and totally worth me taking a "sick" day from work...

 

The issue is that I'm a Man U. and Barcelona fan... and they are playing each other in the finals!!!

 

The good thing is that the final is during our honeymoon, so FI and I are soo looking forward to chilling in the Riviera Maya and watching the game

 

So excited! I'm counting the days till our wedding and the Champions league final (I know I'm sick!)

 

Hope there are more futbol fans in the forum

The FI is a HUGE Chelsea fan. (Hense the BD pics in a Lampard jersey) As I was getting clothes together to leave on Saturday he was cussing! I however LOVE Christiano Rinaldo, so I'm rooting for Man U in the finals!

Hey Susan, I do like soccer, my Husband is a big soccer ( voetbal -> as we call it in Holland) fan, he spupports ajax. We didnt do alot good the last few games, and were out of the champions league, makes my hubby very unhappy, and above all, our trainer Marco van Basten quit his job as trainer from ajax! F*king basterd!! Only one more game to go, and he leaves ...like a cowerd! we watch games almost everyday, but I dont always join the gang, only the big games!

 

Well enjoy your Man U. and Barcelona game, Husb. will be watching too, I will probably be bringen the beer of and on :-)..

so funny.. my dh is OBSESSED. philly is finally getting an mls team and dh has had a huge hand in garnering interest in the area. he's the vp of the philly supporter group. anyway, we have been freaking out over the champions league because we'll actually be IN barcelona during the final. even though it's in rome the city is going to be so much fun and we can't wait to watch the game with the locals! so yes, we're very happy barca won!

C. Ronaldo is such a hootie and an awesome player, but he soooo conceited, but then again if I had that talent, the looks and the money, I probably would be too

That totally sucks what Marco did... He should had completed the project at least. I guess he couldn't handle that 4-0 defeat...

I'm sure Ajax will do well next year, maybe you guys can get Frank Rijkaard
as a coach :0)

I'm a fan of PSV in the Eredivisie and they weren't that hot this year either, I think Ajax is higher in the standings.

BTW I'm a huge Netherland National team fan - I cried and cried when they got elimiated in the Euro Cup. After they kick butt the entire tournament, it was really sad to see them lose and be eliminated:0(

I'm Portuguese so being a soccer fan runs through our veins.. it's sorta like a religion for us.

OMG! That's so awesome that you both get to be in Barcelona during the final game. Please take lots of pics and share them with me. The city is going to be crazy if Barca wins!!!!

Yeepee! Philly 2010!!! That's really cool that your husband is participating in supporting the new MLS team (# 16 I think). So any insider news on what's gonna be the team name?

BTW Barcelona is scheduled to play Galaxy & Seatle in August, as their pre-season! I'm so looking forward to going to that game in Los Angeles...

The big announcement of the name, colors, etc officially comes out on Monday, but DH has already gotten to see everything and he can't keep a secret cause he' so dang excited so I don't feel bad about spilling the beans either... the team is the Philadelphia Union and the colors are navy and gold, with baby blue as the away color. We have the logo on our other computer, but it's round with the Don't Tread on Me snake in the middle. We like it!

Yea I will definitely take lots of pictures.. there are rumors that Barca will set up a giant screen in the middle of Las Ramblas (the mian street in Barca) so that everyone can just pile in the streets and watch. It's going to be loco.
