Cleavage on your wedding day??

Recommended Posts

Alright, so I found a dress I absolutely love (sorry, not online so no pics), but it's a v-cut, and I'm a D-cup, so I'm a little shy on pulling the trigger and showing off the goods on the wedding day! It's not so bad that there's danger of a nip-slip or anything like that, but it's definite cleavage, and I'm worried that it might be tacky for a wedding day!

What do you think? Is it more acceptable because we're getting married on the beach? Has anyone gone with some cleavage and received flack from anyone?

I'll prolly still buy it anyway because I adore it, I just need a little reassurance wink.gif

Do you have pics? I had a deep v-neck, but I am barely a b, so not the same thing. I think that a v-neck doesn't make it bad, but it's how it fits you, so I can't say for sure either way.

Also, if you love the dress but are uncomfortable with the v being so deep, you ould always have the seamstress place a small piece of lace at the bottom of the v. A quick fix that doesn't ruin the dress.

I didnt even think of maybe adding a piece of lace, thats a great idea!

I'm not exactly sure how it will fit, especially after the straps have been shortened, because the sample was two sizes too small. And sadly, the bridal shop was very adamant about no pictures, and I haven't been able to find the dress anywhere else in town sad.gif

I suppose when it comes down to it and if I'm uncomfortable, I could always add the extra fabric... thanks for the suggestion!

I think it will be fine as long as you are not busting out of the top. I am a DD and pretty much have cleavage in anything. I do not think a little cleavage will look tacky.

I think it will depend on what bra/support you wear underneath. If you have something really pumping you up it might not be that appropriate, but if it's just natural cleavage I think it will look OK. I definitely think we need to see before we can offer our true opinions wink.gif

I agree... My dress is super sexy with a very deep V and very open back down to my tailbone. It all depends on the fit IMHO. I am a B cup maybe a small C in some things.

Also, see how it is once you have it in your size ... Like Carly said, adding a little strip of lace or something underneath should be an easy fix.

Let's see the pics!!! (Just bc I love pics!)blush2.gif

It's your wedding, wear what makes you happy and feel beautiful. When you get the dress fitted, see how you feel in it. if you look at yourself and think you look amazing, then keep it the way it is. If you think it's too much cleavage then add the lace like Carly said.

I am w/ Des we both are DD so we are used to a little cleavage all the time! I think really this depends on how you feel about your boobs. Do you like them? And, on your wedding day are you only going to think about how your boobs look or where they are or how much cleavage? If so then I'd go w/ a different dress.

D girl here *DING* I feel like I should ring a bell after I say that rolleyes.gif

I too was concerned about this, there are so many awesome beachy type dresses out there but the cleavage is always an issue for me, well and I can't forget my mom who is always quick to point out the boobage factor.

I think it really depends on whether you're comfortable with what shows. Do you normally wear tops that show cleavage? If so, then go for it. But definitely don't wear something with a plunging neckline if you're not used to it otherwise you'll likely be overly conscious of it all day and your boobs should be the last thing you're thinking about on one of the most fabulous days of your life! humble.gif Otherwise I think Carly's suggestion with the added piece would work well.

For me -- my concern was to get something to hike these girls up, so they're nice and high and not droopy, lol. Motherhood was not kind blush2.gif

LOL not so kind to me either!!! I don't care for the plunge cause i'm not real fond of my big mamas! They need a lift before I'm good! I ended up getting a sweetheart neckline, very complimenting on big busts!

    • It’s been years... and I’m now searching for the same in Montego Bay or Negril. Did anyone ever have any luck finding?
    • Hello, I'm new to this site. I got engaged already and get married by next year. I have some doubts regarding our dating destination. Hope you will help me. Thank You!
    • Hello everyone,
Well, this upcoming valentine's day is special for me because I got engaged and planning to spend the day with my fiance. I'm planning to give her an ethical jumpsuit.

Other than that I have been searching the internet for some nice discounted coupons and searched among my friends and found different sites. Now, we are looking forward to that wonderful day. We searched a lot and found out, Escape The City. Orangeville is a great place for a day trip or weekend gateway from Toronto.
Theatre Orangeville is offering a weekend package that includes 2 tickets to a Live performance at the theatre, Premium Overnight Accommodations at Best Western Plus Orangeville Inn and Suites and $75 Downtown Wine and Dine Voucher which is valid at select Downtown restaurants, and Free Entry to the scenic Trails & Bridges of Island Lake.

We are so excited and eagerly waiting for that day.
If anyone has got any other suggestions for the venue, kindly share your thoughts/ideas.
      Thank You!

    • Please tell me, the best wedding venue in Saskatoon, SK.
    • Hey everyone! Like the others here, I'm interested in wedding reception, venue and all related steps & stuff. Starting with my first and the most important note is that we're international couple and we need to think of bilingual wedding. So the first thing we need to think of is whether it will be interpretation or 2 different venue coordinators, sermons and stuff? What is your experience, what could be the best and affordable solution? From googling the issue I've found this Interactio app team ( describing possible solution here  http://blog.interactio.io/case-study-weddings )Basically they offer to hold the venue in the main language, additionally providing simultaneous interpretation online to other quest's mobile phones. Looks like really easy and creative idea. What about the others? How did you solve this kind of obstacle? Any additional advises would be very welcomed here
