My Fiance and I are trying to plan a honeymoon to Fiji but have no idea where to start? Does anyone know if there are all inclusive resorts there? Do you know of a site that lists prices and availability?

Any help or guidance on this issue will be greatly appreciated!!!

We went to Fiji and Australia for our honeymoon last may. We loved it there!!!

We used a company called goway travel in Toronto to book and loved all the places they set us up in.

We spent our first 2 days at the Radisson in Denaru on the main island to recoup from the long flight and then spent 4 days on Castaway Island. While on Castaway we went on a little island island excursion and visit Mana and TokuRiku (sp?). WOW is all i can say. Tokoriku (?) has 2 gorgeous resorts on it- adults only and the honeymoon bures are fantastic. As we were spending 6 weeks away we couldnt afford to go all out in any particular place so Castaway was great for us.

On Mana we saw the special honeymoon bures and saw the only over water ones on our neighburing island as well. All fantastic.

The water is gorgeous and the people are so warm and friendly. Although not all inclusive, our resorts offered meal plans and we ate well! The food is not like down south. it is all gourmet. The meal plan was worth it most days but sometimes too much... 2 course lunches and three course dinners werent always needed after a breakfast buffetwink.gif

A tip we learned before it was too late was to buy drinks and alcohol at duty free as you are allowed to bring it to the resorts and drink your own stuff at dinner etc. Even water and pop is $$$ on the islands so we knew when we saw aussie's with cases of beer and water that we should buy some before we go.

There so many islands that make up fiji and we only saw about 10 -12 of them on our journey

Let me know if you have any other questions...

We would love to go to Fiji, we are planning that for an anniverary trip. It is too expensive for us at the moment. The infamous huts on the water are in Fiji...that is where I want to stay! It looks so beautiful and serene...let us know what you decide!!

FIJI is a fantastic option for a honeymoon. There are some great resorts on the main island and it's fun to head into town and check out "real" Fijian culture that way. You definitely want to splurge for a few nights in the over-water huts - it's worth it. I'm not sure of all-inclusives there, but when I went, we ate and stayed at the resort except for a couple of nights venturing into town, so that would be a great option.

I don't want to scare anyone - but I wanted to go to Fiji for our honeymoon and my DH researched it and found the government is unstable. I don't know how bad it really is, but after reading the travel warnings on the US Dept of State website, I agreed now is not the time to go.

This is from the site - you can read more and decide for yourselves -

Fiji

This is from the safety and security section -

Under Public Emergency Regulations currently in place, some basic rights have been limited, including freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. The independence of Fiji’s law enforcement and judicial systems is compromised, putting into question protections ordinarily afforded by the rule of law. The Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens to carefully consider the risks of travel to the Republic of Fiji at this time. While Fiji’s country situation appears calm on the surface, political, economic, and security uncertainties continue. It is possible that the security situation, especially in Suva, could deteriorate rapidly. American citizens in Fiji should remain vigilant, particularly in public places and near military activities in the greater Suva area, and should avoid demonstrations and large crowds. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful could turn confrontational and escalate into violence unexpectedly.

I HAVE to share with you this site I came across while looking into Fiji! It's AMAZING! It's super expensive but it's brand new and has underwater hotel rooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The day I win the lottery, this is the first purchase I'm making :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
