Anyone use their engagement ring as their wedding band?

Recommended Posts

I did this with my first marriage. I had a very vintage style ring with lots of detail all around the band and I I felt that putting a "band" with it would have taken away from my e-ring. I didn't think there was anything wrong with that and nobody ever seemed to question it. I think you'll be fine.

I also use my e-ring as my wedding band. My e-ring is very thick and it has emerald cut diamonds which made it very difficult to find a band that would match and not be too thick. I opted on getting one made because I thought the ring stood out much more alone and looked a lot better.

Your ring is very pretty and thick, so even if you don't find an e-ring, the ring alone will look just fine.

I'm in the same boat-my e-ring is not symmetrical and has diamonds facing out on the sides of the ring so finding a wedding ring that compliments has been really tough. I finally opted with a really thin band I can wear in situations where my e-ring isn't practical.

I think adding much to your ring would distract from how unique it is. If you feel compelled to have separate band I think the idea of wearing it on your other hand is fitting.

Your ring is so beautiful and unique, the turqoise idea is cute though. My engagement ring is custom made with a wide band on the top left and a wide band below on the right holding my center stone in place. I personally and not going to have a wedding band just because I do not want to take away from the affect. I truly believe it is a personal preferance though. I have a lot of friends who had the shadow band as their wedding band to not take away from the engagement ring. Good luck! Cannot wait to hear or see what you decide!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
