Wedding Planner/Coordinator Budget ?

Recommended Posts

The $300 is the cost for the official wedding. I'm only having a symbolic wedding and getting a "married" a few days before we go, here in the US. That should cover the judge, all legal fees (there) and your blood work. You'll still need to file the legal paperwork when you get back.

Hi Tammy, I'm just starting to plan my Cabo wedding and had been in touch w/ WIP prior to finding this site and seeing all the warnings. Just curious what kind of problems you had with them. So far they have been extremely prompt with replies to emails and phone calls, answering TONS of questions before I have given them any money. The price they quoted for their services seems to be in line with Maye and the other coordinators I have seen. Has anyone else had bad experiences with them?

I also started off working with them but I felt that their prices were too high and that I wasn't getting much for my money. I think their prices are closer to 2K for full coordination (wedding, rehearsal, welcome dinner, etc.) where I paid Maye $600. I didn't have her do anything with regards to arranging the officiant or paperwork so that is why the rate was reduced.

How much did WIP quote you? I remember them being a LOT more expensive.

they have had alot of complaints and all usually at the last minute...i will not refer them at all...they seem shady too me...i have heard of them raising prices 40% for a reception at the last minute so birde had no choice but to pay.

also, they are very prompt and responsive UNTIL they get your deposit, then that is when it goes downhill.

if you decide to use them be warned...tammy was using them and then fired them.

She hasn't changed it but will let her know. :)
Wow, this is good to know! She's also charging me $975 but I'm doing all the legal stuff at home and just having a ceremony there. I'm emailing her now to see if I can get that same discount.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
