Kamala,

The price of $1,000 + 26% includes a meal (your choice of two entrees from the Seaside Grill Menu) and then you would have to pay for the additional bar coverage.  The $1260 covers 60 people.  My fiance and I chose the Seaside Grill because we didn't want to pay more for food that was already included in the price of the hotel.  So, this was the cheaper option for  us.  It is possible that you could pay to rent out the Seaside Grill and still do the "silver" plated dinner but it's going to cost more.

For us, since we're bringing a large party, we will have to pay $20 per person over the 60 count for the meal but it saves us a lot of money.

Dana - I've made sure to get everything in writing. I'm afraid that I'll get there and everything changes.  I'm just a little paranoid.

Hey Quimesha,

I just got my official quote from Tiara as well as her confirmation via email. I believe they understand now that they can't change these things soooooooooo i feel better.  NO SURPRISES!!! i hope:( It even included the price of the the day pass with HDC, which is great for me.   I will ask her about the cocktail hour as well now that I have paper work.

Hey there,

from what we talked with Tiara, the cocktail hour is separate.(usually on the pier)  It includes the bar and its either 8$+26% (Silver Menu) or 10+26% (Gold Menu) Drinks are included. Tiara is now sending out quotations, so she should be able to put that in the quotation for you.

Ok, so here's my email to Tiara asking her if we could do a free cocktail hour in the Seaside Grill since we will have already paid for it and the bar service and just serve dinner later, as our ceremony is at 5pm.  I wanted to give the guests something to do prior to our arrival while we're taking pictures.  How can I make this question clearer?

Tiara,

I really don't want a separate event.  I just wanted the guests to have something to do before dinner. I thought we had the restaurant to ourselves from 6pm so I assumed we could customize that time frame how we wanted it, since I'm already paying for the bar service and the ceremony is late in the evening.  I just thought that I could have them have drinks while we're taking pictures before serving dinner and serve dinner once we arrive.

Oh dear, i seem to be more confused now LOL!  We have about 26-30 people coming so I am assuming we will still have to pay the 2600 for the meal at the SeaSide Grill, I am going to e-mail Tiara today again.  My plans are that we all meet after the ceremony, which is at 5, which I thought we would beable to just go to the Seaside Grill for cocktail, appetizers etc, followed by the meal, but will maybe have to look into the pier as well.  As for centerpices, and favors, placecards etc I have already started to make some of my things, I ordered alot of stuff from WeddingStar and also got alot of great ideas from looking at others pictures on www.myknotwedding.com  I am considering mailing out a box of decorations before the wedding.  My faince's cousin is planning on doing our pictures, hopefully this will not be a problem, as I heard the resort does not like to have other people taking picutres?  We are also having a spiritual wedding there only because of alot of information I have read and things which have happened in the past, loss of certificates and no verification to trace the wedding.  I had Tiara send me a copy of the spiritual ceremony and it is the same as the legal one, our guess will not know this.  Also saves lots of money!  I am making Welcome bags for all my guest, which includes a Thank-you letter for them and a bunch of goodies, let me know if you are interested in what I am putting in.  Is anyone having a dance on the SSG deck, are you bringing your own music?  Happy planning!  Kamala

i was emailed an official quotation from Tiara last week, with a complete breakdown of all the costs. I'm sure she will do it for anyone who needs it now so its not confusing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
