Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

Hi girls! Thanks Soccer1615 - i sent the brochure to you today!

Claire Marie, in answer to your questions:

Did you take your own lanterns for the gazebo or did Dreams supply them? - I bought my own lanterns, I dont think they can provide them at the resort! I have ivory, white, peach and pink (not used on the day) - you are welcome to them if they suit your colour scheme - i'm in Ireland so could post them to you :)
I get married on 21 April.....not...long. Would you recommend a 4.30pm ceremony? For me a 4.30 ceremony was perfect, so yes I would. Timing wise for photos etc it is ideal for sunset, which is when you wanna be taking your photos!
Your photos look amazing. Do HDC do any smaller packages? HDC have a silver package - I went with the gold. The silver package includes 3 hours of shooting time (gold package is 4 hours) and you get 300 pics on a CD to print at your leisure (gold package is 375 pics) the silver package is $650, the gold is $850. Trust me, it'll be the best money you ever spend!
Did you hav the cocktail hour? And was it part o th silver package? - I didnt have the cocktail hour and to be honest I didnt see the point - the gazebo is right beside SSG bar so my guests all wandered over there and had drinks while we had the photos taken. I did however pay for extra champagne for after the ceremony (they provide for 10 people so I bought 2 extra bottles at $25 each as I had 22 people) Also, our guests had all had lunch so hors dourves would have been wasted on them!

I have my irish wedding tomorrow (sigh!) and then I go on honeymoon so I wont be online much but will answer any other questions as soon as I can!

Hi ladies! I have been reading the thread for a while and I'm finally all caught up. I am 99% sure we want to book our wedding at DLR and I am so thankful for all the info and help on here!

Chanelo - thanks for the awesome review! You look beautiful and your pictures are gorgeous!

I'm kind of confused about the pricing options and I have a feeling they have changed things since a lot of you have booked. For example, the current brochure says reception options are the gardens, beach, pool, or ballroom. Does that mean that the Seaside Deck is no longer an option? I'm also wondering how the dinner pricing works; why do the packages only include up to 20 people? How much is it per person for more than 20? I also don't see anything about a buffet option. Does anyone have information on that?

Chanelo - since you didn't have the cocktail hour, does that mean you just had the complimentary wedding package? What was the price for dinner outside of the wedding packages?

I emailed the resort over a week ago but have yet to hear back. Sorry for all the questions and thanks so much in advance for the help!!

Hi everyone. i have been following the site and trying to catch up on the forum but there is so much that i gave up and just read the last few pages. We get married at dreams on 24th april 2013. Have been to dreams before and its an amazinv place we are so excited!! Chanelo your day looks perfect and its great to see you finally had your big day and everything went so smoothly! Your colour scheme is the same as mine and i also am getting married at the garden gazebo at 5pm and are having the reception at the ssd.we are also booking hdc. just a few questions if you dont mind. Where did you get the grooms suit? We also want light grey and think marks and spencers is our best bet? Did you pay extra to have the gold chairs? I love a lot of your ideas and wondered if you would mind me printing off your photos to look for similar items? I hope you have a fantastic honeymoon and look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for all of the advice you have posted!!!

Thank you Clare-Marie! Jenny did email me back last night. These are my questions and her answers:

The Wedding Guide says reception options are only beach, pool, or ballroom, but the document you sent me also has the Seaside Deck and Oceana Deck. Are those available too, or is the policy changing?[Jenny]  no, those three areas are without extra fee, other restaurant (US$ 500.00 fee) are available upon request, the sea side grill deck is US$ 300.00 fee, prices are negotiable for groups over 45.
What is the pricing/policy for a buffet reception?[Jenny]  the buffet selections are for groups with 40 guest minimum.

So I did get my questions answered about the reception sites. If you find out anything additional about the buffet prices please let me know.

Thanks!

Hey Marji!

Congrats on your planning!

Do you have over 40 people so you can do the buffet? Our wedding is HUGE so we're doing a buffet and I have all the options/pricing if you want me to email them to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
