We didn't register for fine china but we did get a very generous gift card as a wedding present and used it to buy all matching place settings. Not fine china but fancy enough! I think for me the point is that every time we use it it reminds me of our wedding and brings back all those feelings wink.gif

I agree if you aren't gonna use it or even use it that often.....why waste the money on that? You could register for other things that you would get use out of. I like the simple white dinnerware sets from Crate and Barrel. You can use them for everyday dinnerware and also on those special occasion get togethers. All you have to do is mix up the cloth napkins, glasses, etc to either make it casual or formal.

I love entertaining and like to have nice dinnerware to use. However, you gotta think of the following things when registering for gifts.

1. Are you really gonna use it that often? If you aren't then is it money well spent?

2. Is this something you would spend money on yourself? Cause if you wouldn't pay that much for it, do you expect others to?

3. Do you have the money to spend on it? Cause what if you don't get a complete set from your guests? Then you'll be stuck buying the rest and it can get expensive.

I'd personally would rather get more gifts then one gift that costs a ton and I'll never really use. :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
