Pregnant now . . . how much to change our wedding plans??

Recommended Posts

For those of you who were pregnant when you got married, did you have to change your original plans due to your pregnancy? I am pretty sure I will need to move up my July wedding date due to the fact that it would make me about 7 months at the time of the wedding. I really don't want to be that far along when I get married, anyway.

Did any of you who experienced this situation have to drastically change your plans? I am determined to still have my wedding in paradise!

I know that people will not be able to attend that originally were going to attend if the date is moved. Of course, people were bitching from the start when we first wanted a destination wedding. Now, in moving up the date, I can already hear all the crap that we are going to hear about being irresponsible, insensitive, blah, blah blah . . . as if we planned this pregnancy just to piss people off! :)

I also just booked a boudoir shoot right before I found out that I was pregnant . . . did any of you find yourselves in this situation? I was supposed to do an April shoot, which clearly is out now. Do I push it up to do it ASAP before I get too far along? I really, really was excited to do this for finacee because he would never think I would do something like this!

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated as I really never thought this would be something we would have to deal with!

Everything will be fine. I'm 5 months and I'm getting married next sunday and the only thing that I had to make minor adjustments to was my wedding dress. And I mean minor. She cut the zipper out and made it a corset back. Very simple. I didn't do a boudoir shot but you can always call to see if you can move the date up.

You'll be glowing and beautiful regardless!

If you aren't too terribly far along now, whose to say that the baby bump will really even show for the BD? Even with the baby bump, it would take the idea to a whole new level of sexiness :)

How far along will you be in April? Could you make it into a boudoir and maternity session? Otherwise, I'd probably move it up. Not that you'll necessarily look pregnant already in April, however you'll be approximately how far along I am now, come April (i think)... and... honestly... it's the middle stages. Blah. Where you don't quite look pregnant... know what i mean? So i would see if she could move it up.

you're over two months, gosh I thought you just found out. If you will be 7 months when you have the wedding scheduled I personally would move it up if possible but consider your guests and how much money they will lose. The only reason I say this is there is no way I wanted to travel to a foreign country when I was 7 months pregnant. For me traveling was not entirely comfortable my entire pregnancy. I did go out of town during each trimester and it was difficult.

Just an idea, but if you are changing the date anyway instead of moving it up sooner maybe you could push it back. Especially if you are concerned w/ people not being able to come now because of a possible earlier date. I think BD pics will look amazing anyway you decide to do it - I like the idea of turning into a maternity session also. And if you move the BD shoot up soon you probably won't even be showing yet! Good Luck, I am sure everything will work out! AND CONGRATULATIONS on being a mommy-to-be!

i'm not sure how often she's on here now, but you may want to pm martha. this happened to her so i'm sure you could get some first hand advice.

but i also agree that bd/maternity pics would be very special!

I was just going to say the same thing about Martha. She had a beautiful wedding still and her hubby kissed her belly after he kissed her. It made for a really cute photo. I also agree that you could turn it into a maternity shoot. OR just move it up asap.

I did just find out, and I am already that far along. I didn't have any sickness symptoms at all, and I barely had a monthly visitor to begin with, so I really didn't have any signs until my boobs starting getting huge!! I already need to go bra shopping!

I do not want to be that far along and in a foreign country. We are going to move up the wedding for sure; the question is whether to do it in April or May. I have been told May is really rainy in Jamaica, so we are leaning toward April. However, if we do it in April, my friends will not be able to come for sure. And I just found out that step-monster in law will be in England in May. I would love to have it then . . . but my fiancee's sister would also be out of the country at that time and he wants her there.

I will move up the boudoir shoot, too. I just didn't budget for it this soon. Oh well, some things are out of my control for sure now!

    • Let me know if it works. I'm really curious to know
    • I believe that it is absolutely not important what kind of gift, the main thing is that it was presented with all heart. For example, recently my friend had an anniversary and I gave him an original painting in word art style. He really liked it, as I found the right words. Hmm .. Finding out where their first kiss was will be a real problem, but I think it can be solved. Just arrange a walk with them and ask more about how they started dating, where they first met, etc. They themselves will reveal all the secrets to you. I hope you can make an amazing gift for them. Good luck !!
