Hi again!

I emailed them twice today and said that I expect pictures today or I want a refund and i'd write a bad review on a wedding forum and i've literally just got a reply (as if by magic :P) saying they are so sorry and that I will get my pictures today. its 0530am over there just now so might have to wait a few more hours! But i'm still a bit scared...

Hope it works out for us both, Heather. I will keep you posted!

Thanks for the update Amanda.  Let's keep each other informed.  Hopefully they aren't screwing with us and we'll get our dresses.  I'm still going out tonight with the fiance to look at other dresses.  I just need a Plan B to settle myself.

Good luck!

Heather

Hello again!

I've just had pictures!

They've done a great job! I've asked them to fix 2 little things (the tulle around the sweetheart neck line looks a little baggy....and the lace points that come off of the corset don't come down far enough) But the overall shape of the dress looks great! i'll try and post the pictures, but last time it wouldn't let me because i was new :/

I'm glad you were able to hear back from then. I tell you, being on edge about your dress is no good feeling at all!

MY JASMINE'S DRESS IS HERE!

So as soon as I got home from the airport this afternoon I went straight to the UPS store to pick up my dress. (my seamstress is from China as well; she said she had just done alterations on another bride's dress that had gotten her dress from China)

She helpefd me try it on and I took my wedding day shoes with me so I could be sure to see the correct height.  I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture of how they bundled it up.  They sent a garment bag which folds in half (and you can zip it) and doubles as a regular oversized tote bag (good for transporting stuff on the day of the wedding) but I don't think I will be using it to transport my dress in because the front of it is sheer and you would be able to see my dress, which I don't want FI to see until the wedding day. They also had the crinoline skirt in the bag as well.

700The seamstress was taking the pictures with my camera and she kept taking the pictures over and over because she kept saying (I keep ending up the pictures!!!) I kept telling her it was inevitable since she had all the mirrors around on the dress stand.

700Ok I just noticed that the "hoop"/crinoline skirt is crooked and maybe not pulled all the way down. I think I was just so excited to get it after all the drama I had been through with Shades of Pale. I just wanted to get the dress in my hands first and then go from there. I am probably going back on Saturday to have her help me try it on again because I need to see if my little silicone breast thingies will work.

700  It's not as tight as I want it to be in the buttock area but only because I lost about 1/2 inch (not intentionally), but the seamstress said it was perfect. They were supposed to make the halter strap detachable but they didn't. I won't sweat it though. I was worried at first because it was a little loose and then the seamstress showed me how to tighten the corsett to make the strap just right.

Overall I am really pleased with it. I think I am going to have it steamed to be sure the folds lay down nicely, but only after I visit the seamstress one more this weekend though.

Thanks for looking!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
