@Brandy: Do you have any photos of you in the gown? This dress is pretty popular judging by the amount of photos I've found of actual real brides in it, but I'm always up for more porn to hold me over until my dress finally arrives.... :)

I've been reading this post for a few weeks and I've finally decided to order a 2nd dress. YAY! i ordered from Landy Bridal on Ebay. I totally fell in love with this one. I hate beading and lace but I love drama and I think this dress gives that. I ordered this one b/c it's a pic of one of their actual dresses.

I had my first fitting for my original dress (Watters) last week and that didn't really go so well. I'm a size/8/10 but they ordered a size 16 dress for me because I'm an F cup. So of course when I put the dress on for the first time I'm swimming in it and it looks nothing like the floor sample that made me look super skinny and sexy. I just looked pregnant. I'm pretty sure (well not really) that once all the alterations are done that it will look great but I wan't to have a plan B.  If all goes well I'd like to wear the Watters dress for the ceremony and the landy dress for the reception.

So When I sent in my measurements to landy they emailed me back saying that there must be a mistake. I looked over what I had sent and realized that they must be confused about my bust size--- believe it or not my under bust/back is 33 and my full bust is 43. I had to email them back to let them know that all the measurements are correct and that I just have enormous boobs lol.

I'm leaving for DR on May 2nd --They say that I should have my dress by the first week in April. I can't wait to see this dress. I will certainly be posting pic to share with you ladies b/c w/o all of your great input and feedback I wouldn't have done this.

This question might be stupid, but I need to know so I'm asking anyway :) Do you have to pay the full price up front when you order the dress at most of these vendors? We are struggling money wise right now, just changed jobs and moved states so I will have to wait to order if that is the case, and do a rush order. Thanks!

Ginger1961,

There are knock off shoes. I know Duosheng has a dress factory and a shoe factory. You could ask a quotation by sending them a picture. I have no experience in ordering shoes myself, but I have seen a nice looking pair somewhere in this thread. Materials are probably very different and I don't think they would be as comfortable as the original de la renta's!

Hey  so I am emailing some different chinese sellers that would make my dress but after reading these comments from everyone it brings a new concern to my attention that I have yet to think of. SO, does anyone know of a site that does the lace really well? The dress I am wanting is two layers and the top layer is a beautiful lace overlay and I want it to look good. Any suggestions?

All of your ladies' dresses look gorgeous!! Only a day or two more and I should get pics from Jeff Liu about my dress.

I am sooo incredibly nervous cause I've now seen two dresses that the brides weren't happy with.  One was lace, and the other Jeff put lace in.

My dress is all satin but I'm still scared :(

Do you think it'll turn out?

I'm slightly sad.  I did not "love" my first dress from Monica Bridal (even before I ordered it) I just didn't want to be stuck without a dress. So in February I decided to look for something else that I liked more. I sent an email to Babyonline and asked if they could make me a dress that I would receive before March 20. I got the shipping notice last night, but they told me this morning that it won't be ready for another 10 days. If I can't have the dress by the 25th I need to cancel the order. Has anyone cancelled before?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
